Life and business is all about timing and being prepared. The real winners are waiting, and watching, and making their plans.

At this point anything can happen because we have a noob leader who is DESPERATE for revenue. If you step out now...it's too much of a crap shoot.

I think any small business is a great thing, regardless of the owner's political views. :-P

Cracker you lost me when you said that you just sent all your money offshore/overseas with zero stateside investments....Like I said get with me when I come down to Florida..I will show you what to do with your finances you currently not investing with...You might have to work a little, but its just looking after your money
 
Most folks try to open a business with no concept of a business model....Do the homework and research and you will know what type of business to run and where to find the right location to run it...

Yes it was the progressives who forced bankers to loan people money who had no business being loaned money and then bet on those peoples' loans defaulting for personal gain.

Actually, a few of my clients are taking advantage of reduced competition, gaining huge portions of market share rather quickly while so many believe the headless chickens and fail to act.

Now is exactly the right time to start a business. For most industries, if you wait until the market is "up" you'll face stiffer competition and will gain little market share, and your business will be less likely to survive the next "down." Millionaires are made during times like these.

Accquisition is different... and yes even real estate is a good deal now for that.

But that is not small business.

Small business's right now are coming into a time period where taxes are going to go upwards and the IRS is becoming very very.... and I do mean very...aggressive. Unless you have a crystal ball....I would wait. Of course there are always exceptions and that's why anecdotal testimony is not admissible in court....everyone has a story of a friend...right? :wink:

Overall, the climate is sour on small business. Until the health welfare is either codified or repealed...hiring is a crapshoot. Right now small companies are capping at 49 employees because 50 is the magic number for increased govt taxation on them. Unintended consequences of anything done by the govt. are alwayd hidden as much as possible.

Don't forget that Obama is hot right now for a VAT tax as well....hopefully he will come to his senses on that issue, but if he doesn't watch out...the environment for small business growth is very possibly going to get much more hostile than it is right now.
 
Actually kiddo, if you go to the IRS website you can review the tax brackets for the last few years. They have been declining for lower income earners and small businesses since Obama took office.

Also, tax breaks for small businesses have increased, as they did under Clinton...and Carter...but not G.W. Bush, or Reagan.

But those facts are not backed by severe corporate propaganda, so you might not believe them.
 
Small business does not pay 1 penny in Federal tax ! So stop the republican bullshit.

The only business which pays taxes are C corporations.

Sub-S and LLC do not pay taxes, rather, the bottom line of the corporation becomes top line income for the shareholders (individuals). I've been a small business since the mid 80's and have never, ever paid a penny in federal income tax.

Oh, and.... elections have consequences. You lost.
 
No one has said small business pays fed taxes... :roll: slow down and read carefully. gramps.

The owners of the S and LLC's pays the taxes... it's just a shift. The taxes are still paid... or are you going to tell me you as the owner paid no taxes on your income?
