thought i'd post this over here since my other forum seems to be DEAD. this is a home made table to fit inside my tent since none of my tables would!! :( anyways, built from scratch out of MDF and 2x4s, pond liner. very simple and works fine. cost was about $80-100(for just the table) but less for me since i had the ebb and flow fittings, reservoir and a lot of the hardware already.

these were given a 2 week veg(which was about a week too long lol) and they are running amok right now. this is my second run with this strain and the first run was from seed so i am still learning her characteristics. these are in 3x3 rockwool cubes on top of a coco mat and they are being watered every 6 hours during lights on. they are at the 2 week mark of 9 right now.

nutrients are as follows, jacks hydro, jacks calnit, a handful of epsom salts per batch, drip clean and some sm90 to keep bugs away. runs like a ronco flavor wave. JUST SET IT AND FORGET IT! i check pH every few days and add plain water when the EC climbs high. thats about it. havent changed the res out once, but i will at the halfway mark and that will be it until flush.

any questions just ask. this really is an easy setup even if you are new to hydro. its mostly bulletproof and with a couple cool gadgets you can have a nice easy grow. each one of these pictures are just a few days apart. this is over the course of about 3-4 weeks. 2 weeks veg and 2 flower. i cleaned up the bottoms a couple nights ago.

i'm talking with cobkits to get an LED array designed for this tent in the near future. stay tuned.

oh, here is the seed run! 5 cgs chem d cookies and one shit freebie that i didnt save. 4/5 were the same pheno with the purpling and the other was the dark green and SUPER frosty. both are winners in my book. yield averaged the same since the smaller plant was more dense.

seed run was in coco/NAPA floor dry 70/30 mix with the same nutrients in half gallon pots hand watered(pain in the ass lol)

some quick updates. all is well in the tent now. they are waaay over vegged, but this is my first ever SCROG so im not too worried about it. next time will be better, ever improving my craft. had some help getting the SCROG trellis in place and cutting out the undergrowth. it was a nightmare and now i have a TON of stuff i need to compost. i was able to move the lights up by about 5" but they are maxed out now so hopefully they are done stretching and the trellis keeps them at bay.

FUUUUUCK NO lol(no offense). i ran 3 600w lumateks for years. i preached the efficiency factor all because of what i had read, not ever having grown with 1000's. i will NEVER go back to 600's except for vertical bare bulb where i can still kill it with a 600. the difference in growth rates, density and robustness is night and day. the only reason i would use a 600 over a 1k is if there is space and heat constraints.

i'm just entering the COB game at the moment. i'm looking to run 32 1818's or 1825s over my 4x8 after this run. i dont mind DIYing and dropping a couple grand on a good cause. My first taste of LED was terrible. a couple of those "300W" blurple panels that sucked for flowering. i like them for seedling/clone veg as they keep the growth structure short and bushy.

i'm working on converting my small veg tent to COBs first and see how it goes and then when this table finishes i will be switching over everything one tent at a time.

Can you post better pics of your diy flood and drain ? I need to do this myself.
very easy. throw the dude at lowes 5$ and have him do all your cuts and save some time. measure your tent and leave an air gap around the edge for flow. i left myself like 2" all around. cut your MDF to size and use 2x4 to make the flood walls all around. i used a brad nailer to attach them with a million 2" nails. probably should put a few screws in it, i can see separation in the pictures lol. i then measured out about a 1'X1' space on one end and cut it out with a jigsaw.(doesnt matter on the size really just make sure its big enough to install your fittings) i then took a piece of scrap left over from my cuts at lowes to block off the hole i just made. give yourself a couple inches on all sides. check the green picture if this doesnt make sense. this is just so the water has a recessed space to run down into for drainage. make 2 holes with a hole saw depending on your fittings. 1 1/2" was slightly big but you just have to center your fittings and O ring and silicone it well. i used the square piece i cut out earlier to press the liner down flat in the recessed area and then used an exacto knife to reach into the hole saw holes and cut the liner in the perfect circle. then you just silicone the seals for good measure and youre set.

pond liner from ebay. make sure its fish/plant safe. the closest size i found was 5X10 and i just laid it in and cut to size with sharp scissors. the nails to attach it have a plastic washer that holds it down without tearing it. they are in the roofing section of the hardware. the hardest part is

i hope that makes enough sense.

What's your table full of? looks like soil or coco... so that drains completely by making that dropped down area? I feel like water would get trapped in some places.

that is a 4X8 coco mat. like 35$ online. this is my first time using them but the cubes lock into them with the root system. there is a standing film of water under the coco mat but the table is flooded 3 times during lights on so its no big deal. kinda like a built in reservoir.

thank god for trellis netting. this shit is saving my ass right now. the stretch WILL NOT STOP!!!! im having to retrain multiple times a day just to keep them from burning. im hoping they will be done soon lol

what week of flower are you in. looking nice. and to the guy mentioning the 600s. fuck no dude.

only thing better than an LED fan boy is a 600w fan boy. I once had a guy tell me he got 3oz per plant (dry) 6 plants in soil w a 600w led (which was really x watts) LMFAO. I asked him what nutes he used he said "none its in the special soil i use"

I immediately made a scene at work and made sure i shook his hand for being worlds best grower

I am at week 3 of nine right now. I am not an LED fan boy YET but i am building a few grand worth of LED arrays right now. the one thing you will get from me is unbiased and well documented outcomes from my grow. if they suck, i will tell you they suck and why. the same for if they happen to kick ass. if they do kick ass, i will be converting full over to LED and you can hit me up for my 20,000W of hps, hoods etc :)

my 4x8 will be lit with anywhere from 1200-1600W at the wall saving me anywhere from 600-1000W per hour and a fuck ton of heat. the heat is my real concern. the wattage is just a bonus because the amount i will save over 2 4X8s will allow me to throw up a 3rd 4x8 for the same juice as 2 HPS 4x8s. this is a HUGE win in my book......if they dont suck ass, that is :)

i had my original run in with shitty LEDs in the past and i think that's what most people think of when they hear LED. I also think that most people like the thought of them until they price out a build and get halfway through and they are already at a grand to do a 4x4 lol. i am expecting to be pulling WELL OVER a gram per watt which i have never achieved with HID lighting. my best is 5 1/4 from 4 plants from 1 1000W and 4 600w vertical in a 9.5X9.5 tent which was only around .68 gpw if i remember correctly. i'll attach a pic for the naysayers lolIMG_1477.JPG

God damn id like to sleep in that tent...

LED fanboy right here :)
I use hps in the winters to help heat up my basement. ive never gotten close to 1gpw with hps or fluorescent. with my diy cob rigs i yield 1gpw give or take a little. im not the best grower out there. i just try to follow CC/lumperdawgz recipes for soil and foliars. i reuse my soil and i pretty much water without nutrients. if i do use nutrients its like a handful or alfalfa pellets and some worm leachate. the soil is a blend of peat/perlite/rice hulls/worm castings/neem/kelp/rock dusts/oyster shell flour. so i guess i too use "my special soil"

All that being said i run 200w in a 3x3 tent and expect around 200grams. some people are pulling over a pound in a 3x3...

Ive just started a 4x7 room with 800w of xobs and 32 plants. im hoping for a pound and a half as its my first time growing in that room.

What are you hoping for from your 4x8? 2.5 or 3 pounds?
