2009 grow from Burger Boss

Well, here we go folks! I'm finally getting my RIU act together & posting my own grow show properly. I ignorantly posted my grow in the middle of RDCOSTAS
thread and oh mama, did I catch hell. And properly so of course!

So a little background: I'm 70,
retired fast food manager,
(hence, the Burger Boss), my 3 passions in life would be my 4 year old grandson, growing the most excellent smoke that I possibly can,
& online poker. And in that order!

I've had grows of every possible description from "I'm ashamed to show this to anyone!" to "OMG,
did I do that?", over the last 45 years.

So this year i'm doing a patio grow
off the side of a mobile home on an e/w orientation I'm at 38 degrees latitude. The 12X38 patio is completely enclosed on all sides, only access is from in the house.
Ordered the seeds from the "Attitude seed bank", very good to deal with BTW. I went for all feminised seed because I hate to deal with male plants!
The lineup:
Great White Shark and Lemon Skunk from Greenhouse seed,
LSD from Barney's Farm, & Super Skunk, Thai Super Skunk and Diesel from G 13 Labs.(the G 13 seeds were freebies!). I started on 3/28
with the GWS and LSD. I start seeds directly in their first growing medium, no water cracking, wet paper towels, nothing! (cannabis has been germinating its seeds for tens of thousands of years without such help). I prefer to use a coconut
husk based 4" pot with MG organic as the medium. I followed with the Diesel on 4/4, and the 3 Skunks, Thai, Lemon, & Super on 4/19.
They were all in their 10 gallon tubs by 5/18. I used Super soil, MG potting soil, & Lowes house brand
potting mix, (needed 180 gallons so I shopped around lol). There have been battles with white fly and spider mites. So far i'm pretty well winning, but the mites are tenatious little bastards, i've gone through
every bloody concoction, remedy,
and cockamamie fix you can think of, from "garlic/tabasco brew" to Azatrol, and a little alcohol/H2O spray in the mix. And they STILL come back! shit! keep on truckin'.

I did some cloning the first week of June, really didn't need any more plants because of major space issues, but wanted to try my home made Areo-cloner. It worked ok, but needs refinement.
I'm posting some pix that are sequential from start to now, most are dated and I tried to get the strain tag in the picture.
I guess thats it for now, (I should hope so you old windbag! lol).
Glad to answer any questions and can take fair criticism well.
Good luck and good grow to all.........BB :peace:

Hi Tony, thanks for looking in. The roof is permanately in place. It is a greenhouse grade polymer, and allows ALL the light I can use! The pic you were looking at was taken at sundown and it does look as if they were being light deprived.
The pic below was taken 20 minutes ago, and I am bloody well buried in GREEN! In fact I have real problem with over production out there.

nice man. Are you using nutes? If so what kind?
Hey Strong, thank you for your positive response & query. I would love to dazzle you with a litaney of exotic grow brews, but the plain truth is I use a generic (24-8-16) "MG" from Walmart. I found Schultz's Bloom Plus (5-30-5) at the 99 cent store for guess what? .99 per quart! Now that said, I know a lot of folks will start screaming about "cheap nutes" fucking up the flavor/taste of your smoke. Well.... I water purge for 10 days before harvest and my stuff tastes just fine, thank you! Good luck & good grow.......BB

Whats up BB...
Finally found your thread... cant wait to see this one turn out....

You might by running out of vertical space... can you bend a few to make more room? Supercropping...

I see one little supercrop up top... do the same to all of them down lower....

you would think i was crazy doing this to a plant no?

i gotta get me sum buckets
I guess it's really not rocket science.
If you start with this: Ten gallon container, pic #1

You get this: All your sativa's trying to raise the 12 foot roof! pic #2 & 3

I took 3 1/2 feet off of the Lemon Skunk 7/29, and 6 lower branches are now trying to push through the ceiling!
I bloody give up, seems like it's always "feast or famine" lol
Good luck & good grow to all....BB

Hey all, well, the grow, GROWS!
I way over planted and now I pay the "bitter sweet" price. The sativas continue to smack into the ceiling in spite of my cutting them back 3 & 4 feet at a time! I will try to pull the top 6 or 8 branches down with floral tape. But I fear it still may be no good because the top stump(Lemon Skunk), that was cut down to 40 ' from ceiling is now 18' from ceiling. My 2 "mostly" indicas, GWS & Diesel are starting to flower and hopefully will put the grow brakes on, lol. They are both 11 feet tall. They're skirts suffer from the over crowding. I really need to get under there and do some major pruning. Sadly, 200/250 potential clones of 6 excellent strains are "MULCH".
I am pretty much "buried" in the outdoor scene lol.
TA DAaa.... Time to put up a new avatar. So I thought it was time to stand up proudly & face the world
right in the middle of my glorious
garden for ALL to see. LOL !

Wishing good luck & good grow to all.......BB:weed:

I was just looking back at the posts to this thread and I took another look at the pic posted by GenFranco. I like the technique and want try that on the "giants". But easier said than done! It's 11 feet up to those branches. I still haven't done the "skirting" yet, i'm hoping I can find a home for all that clone material. I took some pix about an hour ago. #1 is Super Skunk in left foreground, Lemon Skunk in background, & Diesel in right foreground. #2 is Super on left, Diesel on right. #3 is 10 foot GWS, not 11 feet as earlier asserted, (my bad lol). She's starting to get her flower on! & #4 is "clone alley", oh very cozy there lol.
Wishing all, good luck, good grow & good night..........BB bongsmilie

Hey all, the grow has gotten completely out of hand! The GWS is right on schedule, and developing some really nice flowers,pic.#1.
Hot on her heels is the Super Skunk, pic.#2, (notice overgrown background!). Pic.#3 is clone alley. 2 Lemon Skunk foreground, twin Diesel's behind right, & my #1 GWS clone in background. The patio has become like a rain forest. It IS pretty easy to scoot around and water underneath the incredible canopy. Hoping for 2 lb.+ from GWS.
Wishing good luck & good grow for all..........BBbongsmilie

Well, here's a peek at the "jungle".
The great white shark looks like she will be ready in another week or two, then the super skunk, followed by the diesel. My greed has caused me a lot of pain & extra work. Next year, no more than 9 ladies on my patio! #1 super skunk, #2 diesel, & pic#3 GWS.
Good luck & good grow......BBbongsmilie

Hey all, i've been slacking on this journal, so many plants, so little time, lol. I harvested the GWS and her #1 clone on the 18th. We are still hanging to dry. The Super Skunk should be next, (5/7 days).
Then the Diesel should be ready in 2/3 weeks. THEN, there will be a little more room for the LSD, Thai SS, & Lemon Skunk. A number of random shots below.
Good luck & good grow......BBbongsmilie
