SUPER cheap CFL reflectors
Hey Guy's, wanted to share an idea I came up with last night. I've been trying to locate a cheaper way to "reflect" my CFL's, over the usual $8/9 for the "clamp-on" reflector assembly's. So, this is what I came up with:

A 100' X 50" roll of "Gable Barrier", from Polar-Ply:

Cut 16.5" squares:





Cut out circle:


Cut small hole in center:


Cut straight line from center to edge:




Pull into conical shape and tape.


Put the "screw in" end of bulb through the cone:





And hook it up, Viola! 35 cent CFL reflectors:

I do love your passion. Where are ya putting all those plants? I definetly would'nt have the space for it. Gonna be a jungle over there!
Nice home made reflectors, Theres a lot of newbs on this site on a budget that would benefit from seeing this thread.

Iv noticed that its the most pungent smelling vegger iv ever grown. Sorta like a early flowering stage sort a smell, soury and sorta floral. Weird. Thats the best i can describe it.

RE: me, pissing and moaning a few posts back, about NO place to put all the clones. Several offered that I should put them outside; my first reaction was, no way, too cold, even with some kind of cold frame arrangement.
Well when the eminent loss of some excellent clones is on the horizon, it's time to RETHINK! :idea: :idea: :idea: :-P

1 large portable picnic table, 1 small ceramic heater, (had both in back shed), $23.77 worth of 1"X2" fir strips, plastic sheeting, and 3" screws, got me this:

There's a remote temp/humidity in there, so I'm able to monitor the temps all night. At 3 this morning, it was 39 on the patio, and holding a steady 68/71 in the "coffin", LOL, (what my son "christened" it).
I want to thank luckandleather and bill, for TRYING to get me to smell the coffee, thank God I went back over the thought again.

I'll make the drive up there in about 9 1/2 weeks, and you can thank me in person. lol.
Besides all that bud is gonna need a lot of trimming ;)

BTW that is a pretty ingenious trick for the reflectors!!! (if i didnt already post that) "You can be Cannagyver Sr." lol

As we all learn sooner or later, there is NO perfect grow! I had a beautiful "The Church" from Greenhouse Seeds, turned out male, NOT hermie, FULL blown MALE!
Well, this bad boy has become the property of one "Bigga-Boy", my Cockatiel, who delights in terrorizing green foliage. I figure he'll have it stripped out in a day or two. I didn't know much about this strain anyway, (it was a freebie), so not a big deal. Pictured is "Biggie" sizing up his "new" demolition project, LOL.......BB

7 days ago I setup the huge cold frame thinking it's all good now until the weather warms up. :clap: Well, guess again burger! Had to pull 3 Moby Dick's out cuz they were trying to "raise the roof". :sad: So I've got them into 10 gallon tubs with plastic sheeting covered tomato cages. This shit's just getting out of hand!!!
Never again will I start so damned early. :wall:

Sounds like they are gonna be some monsters :) A good thing in my eyes, Moby Dick got its name from the size of the colas hopefully ;)

Went out at 8 this morning and discovered spider mites in the cold frame! After 10 minutes of great rage, :fire: and assorted irrational behavior,:wall:
:cuss: :finger: :shock: :spew:
I reached for a great bong-load of "Blue Venom", bongsmilie (I thought that was most appropriate given the situation! :-P). Then,:idea:, & it was off to OSH and get a carton of Lady bugs.
Took these pix 10 minutes after I cracked the lid:

Well it's Sunday morning in "sunny" CA. HAH! a most god-awful wind and rain storm going on as I post. I have 4 Moby Dick and a Wappa catching hell out there in their 10 gallon tubs. The cold frame is holding up well, at least for now. But, indoors, we're looking good!
83 days from seed, in 1 gallon grow bags, all between 3 to 4 feet, no LST or topping, (no room!) 12/12 for 21 days. So here's some pix:

Well the storm has past, and the cold frame is about to "bust out"!
I started with a heater in there, but took it out last week in hopes to slow them down a little bit until the weather will allow for final outdoor potting.
They ARE ready, but sadly the weather isn't. Another storm on the horizon!
The Lady Bugs did their job in the frame, :clap:, but the green room & closet, with the flowering moms will be catching a taste of Doktor Doom this afternoon.
A little nervous about the Dr., as I have never used this stuff before and heard a lot of :clap:, AND :sad::shock::spew:, regarding this product. We will see.......

Glad I checked back in. Looks fantastic. You are amazing for 70. I hope you grow for many years to come.
I loved seeing the ladybugs eat the mites.
Dont you have trouble moving those grow bags around. I got some 3.5 gallons and they seem to hold more then my 5 gallon garden pots. Harder to move too.

LOL, I'm 72 in July, and feel like 60, so it's all good for now! My girls are in 1 gallon bags, so not a problem. The "outdoor" girls will be in 10 gallon tubs; and those puppies DO give me a problem, but we putz along, and
