2010 outdoor tentative plan. Any input?

Hello all. I am currently waiting on seeds to do an outdoor grow this year and had a few questions as far as what other people would do.

The strains I have decided on are:
-Kaya gold
-Pure Power Plant
-Venus Flytrap
-Ice
-Kiwiskunk
-Bubblicious

I will be starting these indoors under LED and CFL lighting in soil. I am going to start 7 seeds of each and then force them to flower from germination so I can get rid of the males. Assuming after this is done, I have less than 30 plants, I want to top a few of the girls to add a second cola and also to provide good cuttings for clones. I would ultimately like to stick 30 plants in the ground (Including clones).

Does this sound like a decent plan to anyone? This will be my first outdoor grow and I am very excited for it. I hope to get 10-15lbs at least. This is going to be a guerilla woods grow so I figured not all of them will survive. If my numbers seem off, please tell me. If anyone has any suggestions, I am open to any and all. The part where you force them to flower from seed then have to pull them out and reveg sounds like alot of stress on your plants to me. Not knowing when you want to get these in the ground, I would veg them for 6 - 8 weeks. Then take two clones from each and flower the mother plants. Keep your clones labeled well and as each male shows go ahead and pitch the corresponding clones. With 42 mother plants assuming 50% end up females that leaves you with 42 clones, figure 10 - 25 percent of the clones don't make it, that still leaves you 30+ plants to put outside. Then use your clones to plant outdoors and finish the female mother plants inside.

Yeah I did the same thing last year when I grew from regular seeds, Ive tried the bag method but its painstaking and re-vegging stunts the growth pretty bad although it does work out but some plant will suffer for quite awhile. when should i plant them?

I usually plant mid-late april sometime, depends where you live...generally you want to plant soon after the last frost...just be careful of the weather when you first plant, if theres going to be any heavy rain/wind you prob should try to cover up the little guys until they get bigger and can handle the elements. One thing that some people dont really take the time to do is dig a proper hole to allow maximum growth, you can get away with smaller holes but if you want to go big dig down 5-6ft, if you really want to you can dig down to the hard pan, fill the hole up with some water, let soak for a week, then dig through the hard pan and you'll have the biggest damn plants around. Its a pain digging huge holes but with a couple of my bubba kushes last year that I went through the hard pan I got almost a pound more off the plants...it does make a difference. what was the part about flowering? i didnt see that word in there. Seedlings show sex in three weeks or more when in veg. and the whole thing about making each one a mom is hilarious. Just veg them untill june and you will have some treeeeeees at the end of the season. Pull the males when distinguished.

6 feet? trying to hid some bodies in that lime haha. 3 feet works good.
It also depends where you plant. Forest,marsh,field. Since your in the forest have to watch out for acidy soil. The pine needles degrade and are acidic. He is telling to digg 6 feet deep because your are sappose to back fill with soil amendments,organics and soilless mixes. In a forest i doubt there is that much hard pan. Digg a hole that is about three feet deep or more. allow at least a sqaure meter for each plant. remember that.

I was planning on putting them in the ground in late April. I like the idea, I just don't know if I have the space. I could probably handle cloning each mother once. I will probably start vegging them early or mid march. Maybe I should push this up 3 weeks or so to make sure that the clones have time to establish and be a foot tall or so when I plant them. This will be my first cloning experience with bud. I have cloned quite a few woody plants and herbaceous ornamentals. How quickly do they root? I feel like this is all creeping up on me really fast if I want them to be trees by fall. I have rooting cubes and hormex rooting gel.

My other idea was to veg them all, then take cuttings from all plants before putting them in the ground and force the cuttings to flower and kill the males outside as they show. Then i could finish all the female clones after. I'm starting all of these in a cabinet that is about 15"x24" I have space for 45 - 2.25"x2.25" cells (all deep style). This should allow them growth for a while.

As for the digging concern for big trees, I think I will be fine with shallow holes. They are going into a forest that is near the water table and the soil is a sandy loam leaning towards the sand side and there is tons of O.M.

Ok I dont want to argue with anybody but Ive seen the difference between 3 ft holes compared to 5, yeah you'll still have good plants but anyone who thinks bigger is not better, well go try it and get back to me. Its not even debatable, trust me I know digging a big hole is not necessary to have a decent yield, but side by side last year I saw the results...but above post is right, if your going out in the forest then you probably dont want to fill up some huge holes...I would veg your plants for 4-8wks, hopefully you can see some preflowers but not all plants show preflowers, atleast not in my experience, take cuttings off any that havent determined sex, go flip those girls into flower and match the females with the corresponding clones...then I would just let those females continue to flower not re-veg for mothers, as you will be able to take many cuttings from your clones you plant outside.

Cloning is fairly simple, I like to take a mature plant or even a little sooner if I have to, preferably take a cutting 4-8inches but smaller or bigger will work to. Make the 45 deg cut, I like to make a tiny slit in in the base of the cut, spread some rooting gel nice and thick and throw them in some media, I prefer presoaked rock cubes, but you can plant it right into soil if you want. Since its your first time I would take a little under double the amount you want to grow, that way you have some room for error and can pick the clones with the best root systems for your babies. Not sure the average time it takes most clones to root, it varies even when using the same method, I usually leave them in my dome for 2wks before planting into 6"-8" pots. I find using a dome helps improve the success, the increased humidity seems to speed things up, but you can get away without it. Now this is just my method and Im not any sort of clone expert, I still have about 1-2 out of ten that arent worth a damn, so do some more research and find a method that you think will work for you. Also to eliminate potential contamination make sure to use nice clean (sterilized) razor and I like to use the razor to spread my rooting gel. Again find a method that you like and take atleast a few more than you plan on keeping just to be safe. Wish you all the best, nothing beats the sun, peace man!

I decided what I am going to do is start all from seed and then clone each plant twice. I will then veg one half of the clones to be ready for outdoors and flower the other set to find the females.

My next question is: What cycle should I do the lights on? If I have them on 18/6 while inside and they get 14/10 when I put them out, is that going to cause them to flower?
