Your plants will only get as big as your roots will allow them to grow... With your clay soil, the roots will have a hard time to penetrate if at all through it... So, you have 2 choices, dig deeper, or a wider circle/square so your roots can at least grow sideways through the soil...Thanks guys! I will be gathering soil all winter. I have already started the seeds. I'm going to make them into mamas. The strains are jack herer, purple skunk, king solomons funk (local strain), and a random seed i got in colorado. I have two different phenos of JH one is a dense nug pheno and the other is more of a sativa/haze. I will be getting some maxibloom and maxigro for the nutes. I also have blood meal and some super bloom. Will a 1.5 x 1 ft hole be sufficient??? I thought it had to be bigger? I will be bringing 1ft clones out on 4/20/11. Will the clones be big enough or too big??
Grab some 2x8's or bigger and make a form around where you dug and added your soil, fill with more soil, then plant...
A good 2 ft is good to take outdoors... DON'T FORGET TO HARDEN IT OFF... I live in Oregon and we usually start to plant in Late May thru Mid July depending on preference and weather... No frost, No hail... when the plants are taken out in Mid July they are already showing their sex naturally through a 18/6 light cycle and are 3 feet tall at least by then, then moved outdoors to go directly into bud...
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!
