2012 Outdoor Mango grow

Just ordered some Kulu (Positronic) Mango seeds and I'm planing on planting around 4/20 in some nice soil mix I made of about 35% top soil, 30% peat, 20% compost and 15% perlite. This is going to be my first grow and I know the pros and cons of using organic nutes but I'm on a low budget so I'm just going to be using some Miracle grow tomato food (for veg.) and bloom boost (for flowering). I'm going to try and keep the grow nice and low by topping and LST, so my neighbors don't bug me. This thread will pick up as a grow journal later in the year.

Let me know what you guys think about my grow and about your experiences with growing Mango plants or experiences with Kulu (Positronic) seeds. :peace:

P.s. Sorry for re-post but it had been deleted, I believe.

Got the seeds in mail and seem promising, they have been germinating for 5 days and 2 are showing roots and 2 more are cracking open, the last one is small and might not germ. but 4/5 isn't bad. I'm going put them in some small pots and keep them under lights and outside during the day for a week or two before planting them outside maybe early next month, its warmer than usual.:-o

Update #2: All the seeds have germinated and all 5 of them are in some soil right now, under a few CFLs, it has been a few days but no sprouts (Besides my Jalapeno plants that I started a week or two before the rest). I'm still hoping that they all sprout and work out, I'll have to plant later this month, because it got a lot cooler, unfortunately , look for another update maybe in another week or two.

I'll be posting some pictures, once there are some worth posting, right now I have one seedling that's all stretched out from the light being too far away, and the other 4 still have yet to come through the soil.

Decent soil mixture, dont worry too much about what type of nutes your using because your growing outside and they will do fine regardless.
I grew some mango last year and they were huge, I got some seeds from it too mixed with other strains so I will see how they do this year.

Good luck

It's a very unfortunate day today, I realized not too long ago that I had been making a very bad rookie mistake, as it's my second grow and I was focusing on the outdoors mostly, the small containers I was starting the seeds in were much too short and the roots had no room to grow :dunce:, I tried to salvage the rest of the seeds and move them too larger containers, but it was very hard to find the seeds in the wet dirt, I may have only managed to save the one that actually sprouted out of the dirt. I probably made many more mistakes while trying to save the seeds, but what's done is done, and I will continue to water the other seeds in hopes that I didn't kill them all . To make up for the loss I will be germinating some unknown sativa seeds that my friend has been growing outdoors for years now. I really hope that my mango plant is a female :???:

My sickly mango plant isn't looking much better :-( but I managed to get one sativa to start growing and it looks great , I've been moving them outside as weather permits and they should be out permanently in a week or two, but you can decide how I'm doing from my pictures. I'm hoping to get some good bag seeds soon and just plant them outside from the beginning. By the way I'm also growing a jalapeno and strawberry plant along with some sunflowers, and they all look pretty good. :-) Anyways, I hope you enjoy this delayed update and leave some helpful tips.

Quick update on the Mango, It has been picking up in speed, it fully grew in it's next set of leaves (3rd) in two nights, when the sativa has not grown much in those two nights. I'm not loosing hope for this Mango, I love heavy indica's like her. :bigjoint:
