Glad I found this thread, was starting to think about not even going to CO next month. I would hate to go all the way out there and not at least secure a glue cut. But I see a few folks in this thread that I know I have seen around the forum. Sounds like most share my opinion that its just a weed flea market, but my point really would be to actually meet and talk with other like minded people.

I've been all over this state and there is a lot to learn about Colorado beyond what any forum can relay.
People from this forum can be hit or miss as well
I get along with everyone so there's no worries from me.

There are different scenes. Different versions of the culture exist depending on where you go.

I don't care if you are rich or poor. I don't care what you dress like. All I really care about is you knowing your shit. If you don't, don't pretend you do. It's OK to be a newbie. Colorado is plagued with newbies pretending to know their shit. It's funny at first, then it isn't.

I'm a newbie learning my shit quick, I basically spend every night on here and other forums studying others grows and techs. I've only been here for 6 months, and I already can grasp the idea your putting down. Only a few of the growers I have met in CO have had some decent advice to spread and did so in a "just looking out" sorta way. The other side, for lack of better words, are ignorant assholes who think their methods are god. Dont get me wrong, grow a plant with 2 liter size colas, cool, but your whole 5 strains tastes the same, you fucked up. Maybe that's my opinion.

I will probably be floating around the area, Im not actually going in. It would be nice to pass a blunt with some like minded heads though. And good luck with getting your cut mate. Thats the gorilla glue strain right? Me personally I have a buddy working with a few growers In CA, he is starting up a strain collective. So far he has some of the Dopest LSD from Barneys I have ever seen. I guessed they popped 50 of them and found the golden ticket. As well as some GDP straight from Ken.

Needless to say, I cant wait for my summer grow.

The most I can say about my level of knowledge is that, I built my rooms from Home Depot materials and can verify most of my claims with a search on this very forum. I have journals going back at least 5 years. Not many people have been on Riu as long as I have and are still posting.
Never done any outdoor or any clone onlys, but I am absolutely not a "newbie".

Ok, so I just paid for my flight and hotel and cup pass for just 4/20.

I will be in Denver Central, which dispensaries do I need to visit before I leave? I have a few to try on the freedom trail, but I still need the advise of the locals.

I prefer "The Green Solution" stores over most and "The Denver Kush Club" is always a great place to visit.
I hardly ever buy flower, just edibles, because I grow the flowers I like.

lol.... TGS is GARBAGE and the freedom trail (and people's cup, and most of the other winners for that matter) is a scam. It'll be better or as good as the crap you get out east but if you visit a good shop you'll clearly see the dif.

By all means visit places like MMJA or TGS or Medicine Man. Or just drive down Broadway and find some random garbage like my boss did first time he came here after rec, I think he brought over some shit from Walking Ravin and I laughed so hard then showed him some real bud.

I can really only recommended Denver Relief for recreational as my fav places are still med only(or shut down RIP CAM). I've only been to DR on the medi side a few times but the bud was pretty on point, not as good as say Kind Love but they still don't have rec and DR does.

You tried Good Meds in Denver/Lakewood? They pretty fire, won the cannabis cup last year for their pure power plant .

I just want an chance to try some of these clone onlys thats I see pics of and read about. Where I am from is so different than how it is in CO.

I grow my own out here and when I do get something from someone else I am usually disappointed. I know there will be some stuff that isnt up to par with my standards, but I must try CO's sour diesel, stardawg, deathstar, ghost og, gg#4, girl scout cookies and plenty more. Theres just no cuts being floated around on the north east, Its so bad that my best shot at a legit ECSD cut is in CO/CA? Going from NY to the west coast for an east coast cut imo, is just ridiculous. But growers in NY are scared to death, so I gotta go west.

I have not tried them. I don't put a ton of stock in cup winners although some have been well deserved.

My biggest gripe is I see places like TGS taking home cups. Because you will never see product that good in their shops.

I was a member there for like my first 6 months of MMJ in Co. And while it was cheap and much better than what I used to get back home, it's pretty much the bottom of the barrel for what you can get around Co.

I wish I had a better handle on who has good rec stuff but I can tell you from my experience with med, places like TGS, MMJA, Medicine Man, 3D, Euflura, etc are not where you wanna go. Euflora is a lil different than the others in that list but similar in that the bud is shit, I guess maybe Euflora is similar to River Rock or Pink House. In that it's a step slightly above the "costo" style places but mostly just overpriced garbage.

I'm not sure if Greenman Cannabis has gotten any better or has rec but RD switched to them from RR, I tried them a few months after that happened and while they were better than RR, it was still disappointing, esp for the price.

I didn't mean to trash ppl from the east or say all weed there is garbage, or that your weed is garbage. I just lived there for many years and know how it is, moving here changed my life, literally. I have friends from the north east that come visit and are just in awe when I show them what it's like here.

The strains you mention is all very good, the problem I've found with so many places is, well a few things, lol....

The Clinic comes to mind as a rec shop that has a lot of those strains and others I'm sure you've seen. I consider them better than say Pink House but still not great, epically for the prices there. Which leads me to my main gripe. Most of the bud you will find, is mass grown and all treated the same pretty much, and a lot of places don't even cure, let alone cure properly. I think that results a lot of the time in bud that simply does not have the smell and flavor it should. The Clinic for example has really good looking buds but the smell/flavor is not on that level.

Only a few select places like Kind Love take the time to "dail-in" each strain and take great care in producing the best possilbe product all around.

As far as clones, half the time I doubt the actual genetics, especially on elite clones, generally speaking you have to be lucky at even the legit med shops to find a good elite clone only on sale. That's not to say you can't find perfectly good genetics from a dispensary, it's just not likely to be the uber hype strains.

Overall, your best bet is to try to find someone respected online that lives here and get cuts from them. I got my first true "elites" from HB420 the other day. Although a fucking mouse chomped on the glue before it was even fully rooted. It's still holding on but I think she's gonna be a gonner, if it was doing as well as the lemon g he gave me I'd offer to bring you some cuts to the cup on the 18th. The lemon g however if anyone wants is growing like a mad man, I'll def root some cuts of her for the cup.

PS> If you wanna talk extracts you have 2 choices plane and simple. Try to find a rec shop with Green Dot Black Label or find someone with FF-WP from essential extracts. I would again suggest Kind Love but sadly no rec there. Barring that, look for nug/wp run and don't bother with Live Resin/Nectar unless it's from Green Dot. Emotek, The Lab, and other live resin I've tried is shit.
