What's the consensus on grow tents as far as brands? I have a friend who's buying equipment now expecting growing MMPR amendments.
I love me some Secret Jardin and use them for my grow/dry tents, but I know a lot of people consider them too expensive. What would you guys recommend for a beginner?

Just stay away from the $100 Amazon/eBay junk with shitty zippers. Any of the bigger name brands will work.
Or just build one with some 2x4 and panda

I wouldn't agree with the 100$ eBay ones all being bad, mine's awesome (3x3x6'6). Came to about 150$ shipped though (80$ tent + shipping/import fees). Quality Zipper and reflective material, just buy one from a seller with a good reputation and be a bit picky.
Things to consider:
Branding: I don't like most commercial grow tents because they add some colour to the trim or add their logo & branding. Would recommend something conservative looking so it doesn't seem so...cliche grow tent?
Vent hole size & how many: My tent have holes that are 5" in diameter. The standard seems to be 4" or 6" vent holes, would recommend 6"
Spill Tray dimensions: When you water your plants there will/should be some runoff. You can by a large 3'x3' spill tray for your tent to cover the floor, just something to consider when planning.
