2016 was great for me. My kid was in boarding school (which means I didn't have to deal with his mom) and my mom is in a nice nursing home. Those were my two biggest challenges, so this year has been like a vacation for me. For the first time in over a decade, this year was all about me. Lots of biking and exercise this summer, lots of great busking, gigs, and fantastic progress made from practicing 4 hours per day. Made more $ this year than ever before, and bought a lot of cool shit. Plus, CUBS! I expect 2017 to be more challenging, it certainly couldn't be easier than this year. Could we do 2016 one more time?

Can't forget the basics.
everything else is a bonus

THIS

Without going into boring detail, my father suffered a terrible illness and finally succumbed to it. Fought hard. But that experience shaped my life perspective.

If I can breathe, see/hear, use my hands, feet, and get where I want to go, EVERYTHING else is a bonus. If you have your health (basic health) then you are very lucky indeed.

So in that respect, I can't complain about 2015. I am sad about losing Bowie and Prince though. Losing Prince was (surprisingly) rough. His music is a huge part of my life.

My year was relatively uneventful.

The highlight was returning here to RIU after being completely offline
for more than 3 years.

A toast. Cheers to old friends that may remember from a time not so long ago, cheers to new friends I've met since logging back in in July and cheers to new friends I may encounter in the future.

Looking forward to the New Year.

Merry Christmas!
