The short season here is the main challenge. That and having to water daily unless your containers are over 30 gallons.

Here at elevation it's a "start em indoors" when you decide how big you want em to be @ finish. You CAN grow big bushes here but you'll be running 3 months indoors before you can set them out June 1...if yer lucky/it is warm enough. We have yet to see a killing frost here this year and that is VERY rare. El Nino rare. It is 34F out there right now though....so the morning cold is creeping in and it's been so DRY here we may see a freeze before we see a frost. Too much info...LOL... "coffee".

IF I were facing such humid conditions/rot I'd be growing autos that finished mid-Summer...or I'd have a designated room set up like yours...with a light and a dehuey...and I'd just bring em in an 12/12 'em to finish rather than risking the rot.

Best of luck!

I grow in the fog here, budrot is a big problem

The best resistance to rot I've ever found was Girl Scout Cookies (forum cut) x Zkittlez. Something about the nugs made it have zero rot while the rest of my garden got rampaged.
Damn that looks great. What was your yield on it?

The Valley Ice main colas have a nice foxtailing. A mold resistant phenotype im stabilizing in this strain. All of the ladies are on track to finish around mid November, possibly sooner.

The seeds are all looking grey and mature. I will be collecting hundreds f4 seeds at the end of the month. Testing dozens of seeds indoors over the winter.

Its a commercial cash cropper strain huge buds maybe part of the rotting but really no smell an really no resin I could rub my nose into a bud an not smell anything or get sticky I ran into 5 phenos a couple had a kushy smell but rotted 2-3 weeks before being ripe.
Something has changed since I grew VEB outdoor back in 2018ish. Mine were all very similar, very indica single cola dom plants. Strong fresh outta the garden carrot terps. They didn't look anything like the pics you posted this year. Plenty of stickiness. I did run into some rot due to the flower density, but nothing that took all of a plant and they did yield extremely well.

Kinda sounds like Vashon added something else to the mix or recreated it with different parents.

Not sure what i grew I got 2 pacs thur JBC out of those 30 seeds i got 4 plants 2 females Reached out to Vashon an they replaced the 2 pacs But its plain to me not the same strain that JBC sent me. Its not even making the hash bin straight to compost full of rot. An I thought vashon did all their breeding in BC the seeds they sent me came out of Colorado just a shity deal for me wasted the whole season.

You no now that you say yours smelt like carrots there was one that had that smell an that one had a lot of purple in the stems right from the git go. I still made beans with 5 different phenos using a male with the purple stems an carrot smell.

He was originally on Vashon Island, but moved to Colorado a few years back. The seeds I grew came from before he moved to Colorado. I will be interested to see how the cross's do, I liked all the cross's I made better than the VEB on its own.

To me if it's strong carrot terps it's probably sat leaning id guess cos I've never came across those in indica Dom stuff always sat leaning or 50 50 stuff containing something like Indian or zamal like in the mix I feel those kind of terps come from the sativa side of things maybe he has selected away from that side of things hence the change or then again maybe your right and it's something new added to it who knows just a thought bud

While in Belize in 2011, I acquired some local seeds and grew them the next year. They clearly stood out from the rest of the plants, but this monster didn't finish in the open here below the 43°N. The next year I harvested one in a greenhouse at the end of November. Best smoke ever! It smelled like carrots and a bit of caramel.

Sure would of been nice if vashon told its customers they breed in colorado where its dry an hot i never would have bothered with if i new that. They promoted this strain as early mold resistance strain breed for yrs in BC a big line of garbage shit they melted down end of sept in a large covered hoop house with fans running 24-7 an still had 3-4 more weeks to go EARLY MOLD RESISTANCE!! i think not.
