I grew crazy big plants this year in the garden but gave little thought to harvest time. I have a yearly trip in October when they are finishing and I lost it all to bud rot. I am thinking I should do autos this year and in pots so I move them if needed. If I start them inside in May can I move them outside in June and finish July/August? Do I do a 18/6 light schedule inside or will they get shocked when I move them out? The daylight in June is 15/9. Any tips on best way to do the autos? I am in the pnw.

Yea I feel ya and have been switching things up and trying different stuff every year. Just know you can still lose your ladies to mold in summer regardless of size. Also the RH and temp swings may be higher than in October creating more potential for mold. Some phenos are definitely more resilient than others as well in regard to mold as well as overall plant health.
I’d say go big still and train em in a way to maximize airflow. Also if you only lose a branch or two that’s nothing on a monster :weed:

Small plants are fun to tho.

Avenue of the Giants from twenty20 did good imo. Also this year I had an American pie clone and I left some of that out until November. I chopped the main colas and left the rest. My buddy harvested the rest and found no rot what’s so ever even tho all the leaves were dead and the plant wasn’t never ideal. It was extra and I just threw it in the ground in kind of a shitty area just bc lol

smoke wasn’t bad either.

Looking at pot size and soil right now. Will I get a better plant and yield going with a 20 gallon vrs a 10? Seems like 10 would be a little small for full root development?
I am going to go with Blue Dream, Gelato, and Original Glue.
Also I have just used miracle grow soil with fox farm before and it worked well, but what soils do you use? I am trying to go with a low cost approach this year since I have spent a lot in the past and on nutrients and supplies and the best plants have been just thrown in the ground and watered with Jacks 20-20-20. But with that being said, doing containers might need a better soil. Thoughts?

10 gal for a auto is plenty just plan on watering every day.
