Hey Y’all,
Shaking off the cobwebs after not growing for the last 3 years. I’m hoping to get back in action. I purchased Humboldt Seed Company’s Cali Sour Diesel feminized seeds as the genetics for the outdoor grow. I’m starting them in a 2’x3’ tent inside and grow them for a couple weeks. Around May 17th, I’ll transplant them to their final home. 3’x7’ raised garden bed. This will be an organic run. Gunna follow some KNF ideas I learned. Humid acids and fermented soybean amino acids w/every watering once the plant’s roots are established. Other than that, I’ll be using some dry amendments and top dressing them throughout their life.

Germination:
3/29/25 - soaking 3 seeds in a shot class of filtered dechlorinated water, pH’ed at 6.7 for 16 hours.

3/30/25 - wet paper towel where they spent the next 48h. I used an heating mat to help keep temps warmer. All three seeds sprouted tap roots. Average temp/humidity was 78.3 F & 71.7%.

4/1/25 - seeds were planted into small containers filled with a mix of garden bed soil, peat moss w/mycorrhizae, and some perlite and placed in my small grow tent indoors. The plants are under a Spider Farmer SF2000 that is 27 1/2” above the canopy and @25% intensity. Average temp/humidity was 73.4 F and 69.35 %

4/4/25- 3/3 seeds have popped through the soil. They seem to be happy. Will continue to update.

Personally I wouldn’t start out with my lights more than 4 or 5 inches from the seedlings. They’ll most likely get leggy at 27”. But that’s just me. On the hand I have grown Sour Diesel, good smoke. Plants can get huge upwards of 12’.

The grow light I’m currently using is relatively overpowered for the application I have for it right now. The driver for the light doesn’t allow me to turn the light intensity below 20% without it giving me a static sound so I just keep it there. The seedlings seem to be responding well atm, no crazy stretch or light burn. Gunna wait a few days and watch how the seedlings react. If needed, I’ll adjust intensity.
