20ft SEA Container conversion

just done the deal on my sea container today got him down to 3k instead of 3.5k

need Advice on what to get right first with regards to ventilation and what size fans insulation etc if i need tents in there or rooms etc

anyone done a sea container before tell me what up before it gets here next week it tall so ave plenty height

heres what im working with,



it got a few windows i could stick aircons in but i wanted a nice split system really so will probly cover the wndows up

im thinking just line it with Aqua check gyprock, be the cheapest

theres a dirty big grill in the floor that will need covering, what am going to do put hybrid flooring in there i dont know where to start

Nice place to start. Things to research and test:
Vertical Hydroponics Growing
StinkBud Aeroponics setup
Aquaponics with fish in a tote reservoir within the container.

Insulation:
Spray Foam the walls to regulate the temps.
Electrical:
Plan to have all electrical wires or otherwise off the floor, using conduit is recommended.
Drainage:
If water happened to spill over, where would it go, drain placement?
Tents:
You could run several 4x4 or 3x4 tents for breeding projects.
Look into a CloneKing 25 or 36, and start cloning.
Have a Mother Tent, Flower out the clones.
Off grid power can be had by a panel set and a battery system, such as a Jackery 1000,1500 or EcoFlow systems.
Lighting:
ViparSpectra P2500
Water:
EcoFlow 360, excellent pumps.
Recycle Timers:
CAP ART-DNe or whatever the you can find close to that.
15 minute timers will work.
Airflow:
6 inch inline fans with ducting and a carbon filter.
I exhaust the tents in a way to cause a negative pressure.

Finally, this was my inspiration.

Positive Vibes and Green Gardens.

Depends where you live for starters take everything out of it Pressure wash it then paint it.

those things get crazy hot in the summer

Clean, frame out, add conduit for wiring (add extra) , make any exterior holes needed, get duct work in place going through the walls and then spray foam. That's how I'd approach it.

yeah, that stuff looks good,

im thinking of blocking off the two big doors and making that the back of the room, then just cut in a standard 820 door frame somewhere near the windows

Remove those air leaking doors and frame that end instead of cutting the intact end for a door. Use the framed section for your air conditioner and most fans. Put your electric panel on the framed end as well. Easier to work with wood and sheet rock instead of cutting steel.

i would keep the large steel doors in the front they lock well and are heavy duty however i would frame a wall just inside the seacan with a normal exterior door and spray foam that. it would be nice to have a small area infront of the exterior door so you can change your shoes and whatnot before entering the grow area youd hate to walk through some grass on the way to the grow room and track pests inside with you.

I say.. Dig a few 30ft trenches, down about 5-7 ft in the ground, using a mini excavator you rent for half a day. As wide as you can get. Then level them up on the bottom and lay in coiled up poly tube. I think every 400ft of pipe is equal to a ton?. Add a circulation pump, and a car radiator with fan in the container. Fill the system with RV antifreeze, or cheap -40 window washing fluid by the gallons, or glycol mix, etc, depending on your climate. It will only take 100w worth of energy to either keep it warm in the winter, or cool in the summer. You'll barely use any energy to either heat or cool it beyond that, because it can always stay about the same temp as it is underground, if you insulate well. Set the container right over the trenches and geothermal loops you buried, using the same mini ex you rented.. DIY geothermal systems can be done for real cheap, and work good for decades! Your mini split would barely ever turn on, and you could potentially save 1000s in electricity, depending where you live.

Have you ever actually worked with a 20 foot conex?

first the rack is coming out, then its definately getting a pressure wash and paint first, a tropical roof is going ontop 200m C channels with inc roofing
should provide a gap between the roof of the sea container and the zinc roof less work for the A/Cs

yea im a licensed carpenter we often modify sea cans at work for storage on large projects sometimes theres electricity ran to them, what ive suggested for the door works best. the only difference i see here is a mini split, metal studs all the way around with spray foam. i think it would be cool to put another second partition divide the length of it again for flower/veg and account for an area to walk down the middle and do a rack grow on each side with led strips instead of quantum boards

Then you know there’s not that many square feet of floor space. Those doors? Unless he’s really lucky those things can be hell opening and closing. I’d still ditch the useless things and frame that end. But that’s just from my experiences. Plural. And usually the bargain cans aren’t in the best shape.

So i have some measurements, 2420 wide x 5920 x 2700 highstill not hear yet
