21 hours of light 12 hours dark?

has anyone herd of this? putting your plants on a 21H 36M light cycle followed by a 12H photoperiod? sounds a little strange but it makes sense kinda, it still gets the 12 hours photoperiod just more light.

just thought maybe the 12/12 was comman cause it NEEDS a 12 hour photo period and because most timers are just 24 hour timers, that leaves you with 12 hours light.

-maybe owning a 7 day timer would be worth it, just a thought.:bigjoint:

This is a flowering light cycle. the 21:36 on, 12 off fits in a 7 day period evenly but adds more time in daylight while keeping the plants in flowering. Grow journals have shown this to work, but you need a 7 day timer and to be able to work around the crazy light schedule for feedings and such.

Too complicated for my taste.

yeah no doubt. i guess if you had nothing to do really except grow it maybe all good, but reading it again. 80% more light energy for 40% more growth... power bill aint worth that for me i think lol

I would veg and germinate with 20 hours light and 4 hours of darkness.

Based on my research, 20 hours light is the max. that you will want to provide your flowers during initial growth.

I would veg for (4weeks) under this regime. You have to give the plant a break. Don't give them 24 hours of light.

The longer the veg the better the yield.

Try for a monthly perpetual harvest with a fewer plant count.

Increased yield with less risk.

flowering NEEDS 14 hours of light or less, and most timers have a 24 hour dial (as long as its not a digi one) but are usually in either 5,10,15,or 30 minute increments. But this has been discussed many of times on this site, should try searching a bit, threads are in here.

neither is giving your plants the amount of that thing, whats it called? Oh yeah light stress :-P that 40% can be 40% pollen sacs ready to riddle your garden with hermies and seeds.

your plant might bounce stages alowing further mutation like leaf structure and so fourth and thats not healthy

The sex of the seed is predetermined prior to insemination. Period.

At times the life of the plant is stressed to the point that it might hermaphrodite in order to save it's species; but this is a rare occasion.

The bottom line is that the sex of the seed is predetermined.

Period. Don't argue.

Ask any professional.

P.S. you will get best yields with a 20/4 light regime during veg time.

i wasnt talking about sex i was talking about bouncing the light schedule and it can lead to leaf mutations and growth confusion:wall:

Some people keep the lights on for 12 hours and off for 6. so 18 hour days. You dont save any power but you save time? i wouldnt do it
