That’s 4 almost 5 months since it was posted on. If that’s an active thread, I guess our definitions of active are different.
Its been brought up from the dead a couple of times.
Plus, you gotta give me some credit for finding the Undetaker gif. It’s a classic. No hard feelings.
Let’s get back on point since this thread is a hot topic now. We’ve officially rose it from the dead and undertaker is proof.I mean if your definition of reviving a "dead thread" is one that is literally a few months recent, you've got a lot of gif posting to do my friend!
18/6 guy myself, but have used 24/0 for periods of timeLet’s get back on point since this thread is a hot topic now. I’m a 24/0 guy.
I’ve tried them all but nothing does it for my girls like that 24/0 cycle. They just love it.
I agree....back in the 70's there were different opinions and misconceptions on how to control tobacco beetles in cigars. The debate isn't over and won't be until someone does a big study over many runs with multiple strains and carefully controlled and measured inputs. I think we are getting close too such a time when scientists will be able to do this is cannabis but I'm not sure we're quite there yet.
IDK, but I like landrace or close to it so I try to mimic the conditions the plant would experience at home. Afghanistan gets down that low so I would think its OK if genetics are down with it!Hello,
I am noob on my first grow but I have a healthy strain (l.a. woman) so I'd like to play with a the lights little bit and see what results I can get.
I began at 21/ 3
I plan on switching to 5:30/ 18:30 soon for the remainder of veg
For flower at first, I plan on going to 12/ 12 for the first 5 or maybe even 6 weeks. I will see how she's doing.
Then I'd like to drop the light even more like 10/ 14 and even if it takes an additional few days or week for her to finish, I have heard this can increase potency. Is this true?
yeah the old days when 4% thc mexican seed weed was all that was available. I think good breeding and science results in high thc levels we are fortunate to enjoy.Thats cool that you did that experiment and the results are interesting. I have also read from many other forums where growers performed the same experiment and found the opposite results. People a lot of the times say that its more natural for it to have dark time but Scientists are finding out just how addaptive C3 plants are to light changes especially hybrid starins that have been bred indoors for many generation. Also is Hydroponics natural? is growing your cannabis under a light source which isnt the sun natural? I mean we have plants with 25% thc which was unheard of in the 60's.
What you've described is the classic "gaslight timing" designed to interrupt the dark cycle of photoperiod sensitive plants. It's called that because rich English people in early hot houses noticed they could keep seasonal plants in their vegetative phase by running gas lighting (all they had at the time, this was before electric lights) for an hour in the middle of the night.I've been using 12 on, 5.5 off, 1 on, 5.5 off, repeat for veg; and 8 on 16 off for flower. I save even more on electricity and my buds are as good as they ever were. It's been working great for going on 3 years now. I was very skeptical at first, but it works.
Some male plants will even start showing under the 12/1 veg schedule and if they do, I cull those. The good males hold their flowers until the flip to 8/16. Some females like the Tahoe OG cut start to show trichomes under veg but they don't go all the way through and keep up the vegetative growth.
There is more to the cannabis plants photoperiod than is commonly understood.
Do you set your lights to full power during veg?I like saving 25% on my electricity bill so I use 18/6. I also notice the plants seem happier.
