Why would you change to 18/6 before 12/12?Now for my regualr non mommies Im going to run lights 24 hrs from first day of clone for about 4 weeks then to 18/6 for a week to 10 days then 12/12 til harvest.

Thank you... some facts
because 18/6 (in my case 16/ simulates the long days of summer. they flower at 12/12 because thats the day time hours of fall. Why would you change to 18/6 before 12/12?
Yes, I understand that bro (not that extreme of a newbie anymore ). I was asking filthyfetch, why he switches from 24 hours to 18/6 for like a week and then to 12/12. I heard people say they do this to kinda gradually make the transition to 12/12. But I hear its absolutely pointless. I was just wondering if he did it for another beneficial reason.because 18/6 (in my case 16/ simulates the long days of summer. they flower at 12/12 because thats the day time hours of fall.
did you read Seedlessone's post on page two? That is scientific fact. Would you rather have two weeks less in veg, or higher yield? Also, something to consider is the relationship between the extra time with lights on and extra growth, might not be linear. Meaning the extra 1/3 of light probably doesn't cause the plants to grow 1/3 faster. I definitely did not see nearly that much of a difference when I grew identical strains under both light conditions. Not to say there wasn't a difference, but I would have noticed a 33% difference.i veg for 24 hours, and i continue to give my plants 24 hours of light all the way till flowering, i beg the differ about the plants needing sleep durring veg, why not speed up plant growth instead of givin them 6 hours of darkness in which they dont need. id much rather give them 1/4th more time under the lights with +1/4th amount of growth compared to 18 hour light period. my first grow i used 18/6 and id say i needed an extra 2 weeks before flowering compared to the 24 hour light period which saved me time.
Right on, finally someone has sense.Folks read the facts...there is more root growth at 18/6.
whoa thats exactly how i'm doing it, i didn't do it on purpose or anything, it was just how it worked out i'm a lucky s.o.b. i guess. but yeah my plants have done really well so far, it did seem they grew slightly faster under 24 but i think the 24 hr stressed them too much.they just seem "happier" now on 18/6.Well I just did a quick study on photosynthesis, and I would have to say, 24/24 for the first month or so would be good, then to 18/6 after, then flower at 12/12
The growth during night, I would doubt either, But arnt the roots what do the main growing? And they dont get any light what so ever...
But I Could be wrong... idk
We must have the same books... lolMost the books I read say after 18/6 your are justing wasting electrcity.
