I have no idea, to be honest. The bulb is whatever came in the condo when we bought it. I'd imagine it's between a year and two years old, since we've been here somewhere between a year and two years...and one of the lights (there's two cocentric ring lights inside the white plastic shroud) is out.hey

I think so. They're cheap to buy, easy to replace, cheap on electricity, and vegging plants love cool white flourescents. Just my $.02.Just a little for personal use thats all So cfls are the way to go ay?
