24 or 48 hours germination in glass/cup of water method?

It seems common place in the grow community for people to make a big project out of the simplest task. Dropping a seed in moist soil has always worked for me, it's worked in nature since they were being fed dinosaur shit. Personally i feel the more i have to screw with something the better the chance of fuckin something up.

Do not soak for more than 48 hours, I find this is the cut of point for problems, I soak for 24 to 48 hours and the tap root is barely protrouding from the shell. At this point you have to plant really.

To all those that think soaking seeds is complicated.... its not and has been the quickest way to germinate without chemicals for years now.

As I do I seed in soil with a little heat mat

Is it possible to drown a seed? Yes.

Does transplanting a cracked seed with tail carry any risk? Yes.

Heat mats are again an extra step in the process as is soaking, all my seeds germinate even at low temperatures. It seems that anything but water is over complicating the process...

Personally I drop them into the wet paper towel, into a sandwich bag, the bag into an empty DVD case & toss that on top of the cable receiver/sky box/DVD player, etc.

Within 36 hours they've usually a tap root around 10mm long & are more than ready to transplant.
Leaving them in a glass for too long is laziness imo.

True I use mine only because my basement is slightly cooler I've had a consistent 98% germination rate I just forego the dome as I don't want it to get too humid and dampen off.

Hey I soak my seeds and adding heat to this futher speeds germination, people call it complicated but its really that easy. I'm down with anything that speeds things up....
