Do i need a 240V Upgrade if I'm using a 1000W HPS & a 400w MH in an area 6 height 3 width 3 long thru a regular socket, also its plugged into a power strip and a timer

at the bottom of the attic steps

attic vents are open

1400w in a 9 sq/ft area is a lot of heat... its not to much as long as you can manage to keep it cool enough... hope you have adequate ventilation..

you dont need to upgrade to 240v outlets/circuts... they make 120v - 1000w hps/mh ballasts... you'll be fine with 120v, but youll need a circut almost entirely just for the lights... 1400w = 11.6 amps....

i wouldnt trust it on a power strip unless it is a heavy duty one...... like a 15 amp strip... and make sure the timer can handle at least 15 amps also...

Well I'll take your advice either way, still trying to make up my mind if I should go with the 1400 watts or just a 1000 watts. What difference in the bud would there be if I used the 1400? Worth it???????????????????????????

i cant tell you for sure how much of a difference there will be... more light = happier plants = bigger buds = heavier yields... so i would use the light anyways... if you are asking what the yield difference is... assuming you get a 1 gram per watt yield... it would be 400 more grams, or about 15.75 ounces, with the 400w light used... either way it will be worth using the light as long as you can keep heat under control...
