24hour timers

people please help im trying to use a 24hour timer for my 18 on 6hours off light.ve followed all te corect steps and it came on at the right time but when it came to the time it should turn off it kept them on ive tried resetting the timer and another one but with no success.anyone ever experienced this please help.

if you mean that its permanently on and wont switch off hances are youve fried the fucker out, are you using a a contactor box? you need one with most timers.

you need one of theses to split the power load going into your lights, if not the little contacts inside tend to 'weld' together when the surge of power required to put the lights on happens. done it a few times myself. you can get a timer with a built in 22amp fuse , theyre a bit more expensive but cheaper than a contactor, not quite as trustworthy though.

thinking it has two modes timer and on. all my timers have come that way look for the switch man the switch

I bought a digital timer that worked fine as long as it was set to come on and go off the same day. If I tried to turn it on before midnight and off after midnight it would not shut off. I took it back and got the cheaper analog one which is now in my veg room.

check for a sliding switch on the side of the timer.this is an ON/OFF switch for using during OFF period. easy for a neewbie to overlook. Shit .... us vets too .
