I use sog in promix. 64 plants in 4x4 tent This is them before chop. I would like to continue a system like that but in ebb and flow with rock wool or something like that.
25 site SOG in 4x4 tent w/ hybrid NFT irrigation drip hydro system feasible?

If I grew bigger plants I would agree. But I run 64 very small plants I don't think they would fill the canopy but that is just me feeling. What do you think bro ?

Alrighty, first to admit when I'm wrong lmao, ebb and flow is actually pretty good looking. What's a good clean medium for pots, and what type of pots are best? I was looking at hydrocrunch hydroton as it's cheap and clean, some potential pH problems but workarounds.
How clean is coco to run like that? Would imagine it could get dirty

And one last question, You think that the 3x3 tray with 25 plants would fill the canopy ?, I think I could also buy a net to help with that. Im sorry to ask so many question lol , I know you are always busy answering lots and lots of questions !!!

Coco is best for drip systems. For ebb and flow you should use rock wool and or hydroton.

I don't know but sog is all I've done 49 plans 2 runs and 64 one, the 64 yielded 1ounce better, buy I aso did better overall.That's so neat

It's all gravy! If you're keeping them short, then no. you won't fill the canopy. If you let them get to about a foot tall before you flower, that oughtta be enough mass to give you what you need to train everything far enough out.

Nah, green genes, dawgo, and even Vader all use F&D with Coco. They use Canna brand everything.

I don't want to use rockwool for sustainability reasons, and I feel coco would become a pain because it stays wet for so long, the gnats whatever they're called are annoying.
Hydroton in a flood and drain is almost perfect except some brands float, I've read people saying it beats up their roots because every flood rearranges the substrate.
I think a flood and drain table only draining with like a lid holding many hydroton net pots suspending the roots and being top fed might be the way to go, anybody see any downsides?

As long as you use a pot that contains the coco well like a fabric pot especially, it works just fine. No coco debris floating around in your water.

If you use 6inch square pots you can fit 4 plants per square foot. Which means in a 3x3 tray you would have 36 ish plants minus 1-2 for the drain table fittings.
Hydroton works great and doesn’t have ph issues from my experience it’s also hard to over water Hydroton. If you can find them locally I prefer “grow rocks” which is a similar material to hydroton but it’s made in organic shapes so it doesn’t roll around

What type of pots? Net pots?or fabric? Slightly worried about hydroton floating off and root space shouldn't be a problem with sog right? Next problem would be a good cloning setup but cross that bridge. Hopefully the grow rocks ( I believe what I got) don't float or at least stay together from the irregular shape which would solve that, I will see this week, is 36 ideal for 12/12 after several veg days to establish?
Thank you, I realised what a pain it would be to build a nft pipe table, ebb n flow here I go. This run gonna be dwc but gonna get the ebb flow for next cycle, get momma's ready. Will update soon

Well you gota be on the ball, coco will slow release K. Not ideal for recirc. But clearly doable.
Doesn't mean its as good as hydroton though for F&D

I have tried fabric pots and they were a pain to clean and reuse. If you can get 6 inch square net pots go for it, but I found regular square plastic pots to work great and last a long time. The pots and the hydroton can all get cleaned and reused over and over again. I had some pots that were 10 years old.
The hydroton floating really shouldn’t be an issue. When I first put clones in to pots and watered them in heavily a few of the pellets might float, but once they were settled in and the roots are established they are fine. Really you shouldn’t be flooding deep enough to make the plants float.

Ok bet, thanks, I was thinking hydroton might dry fast and a regular square pot really simplifies things, last thing I have to ask is if you have any recommendations as far as where to buy the flood table, I'll be looking around myself but figure asking a pro couldn't hurt

The hydroton will dry reasonably quick I usually would flood my table 3-4 times a day.
Buy your table wherever you can get the best shipping price. I had no name tables but always wanted some nice botanicare trays.

Amazon would be great but their selection is rather lacking, I'll probably build a table to sit the tray up top, finding a good non commercial hydro site is hard emphasis on good. Prolly local if it can be sourced.
