250 hps Light. ARE DENSE BUDS OUT OF THE QUESTION?

ya i was and still am doing 9 plants in that box its same as yours 2x2x4 i use 1g pots on a drip system watering every other day. strain and its growth patterns have alot to do with it. i would not top, fim, lst. let the little bugger grow natural. i do trim some lower stuff to get air flow at the bottom. but they are tight in the box but rock hard buds at the end. you need to watch your height( flower 5-7in) mine have never been above 20inches any bigger and the light wont penetrate to the lower bud sites. basically doing a modified sog leaving some side branches with there tops. use good organic soil and you shouldnt have to pump them with nutes for bout 3 weeks then nute them once a week for the next 3 and flush for 2 weeks (my rotation for 8week flower) and my effort is minimal with a total 40 dollar electric bill at the end. total cost is about 150 for the whole grow(soil clones nutes electricity) with 200+ grams hope that helps. let me know if you want more detail.

o and yes anyone that tells you it not enough light they are full of shit. hade a bunch of people tell me the same and i think ive proved them wrong and im way more descrete than there 1k lights with outrages costs to run

Tell me about your drip set up..... I am thinking soil or dwc but the dwc just seems so fucking complicated.... I don't know why lol :( cuz I really want the explosive growth. Maybe I'll consider coco idk... Just Rambling lol

i personally tried dwc and had ph problems that i didnt want to deal with cost wise id go with soil. drip is easy i use a 18g roughneck tub with clear water and a 10g roughneck with nuts( i dont want to be constantly hauling and changing water) i use a econoplus 396gph sub pump 1/4 drip line ans 1/2gph drippers with stakes i also have a 7day timer that is set up to water 30min after the lights come on for 50 min or just enough to put about 1cm of water in the bottom of my tray.i use smartpots and they soak up the water about an hr or so after the watering. every 3rd watering i use the nut bin (organic nutes) for the 3weeks as stated before usually 3-4 nut watering a cycle. a real simple. one mistake i did make once was putting my rez on top of my box, i unpluged the pump and walked away. few hrs later my bedroom was flooded the pump kept syphoning till it had no water. fixed this by adding a air valve by the pump so it would put an air buble in the hoses. fixed the problem.

Hey all.

so i recently acquired a 250hps...

wondering if it will produce hard dense buds. not just fluffy ones...
i hope to hear back from some of you ganja gods.

A 250-watt HID light will give you about 18 inches of decent penetration. If you grow shorter plants, one will be fine. If you grow taller plants you will get a good cola followed by fairly decent buds on roughly the upper third of your plant(s). The middle third will have smaller less dense buds. The lower third will be anything from popcorn buds to died out foliage and branches due to inadequate light penetration.

For someone who will only grow short plants a 250-watt light will be enough for them. For anyone else, 400-watts or more is a must if they want dense quality buds and production from all portions/levels of their plants.

i love dense bud.it has rock hard parts which are packed with resin and those parts taste very hashy when you smoke um.

and 250 will give you some lovely main colas.the bud you get below can be used to make some good hash.

What is your idea of a short plant bricktop? Like under 30'? Or we talking like 20-25" heat has been a proem for me lately. My cab is running at 90+ I don't like that. I'm bring cold air in through my window but it's not cutting it. How much do axial fans cool???? Are they worth it?

I like to grow plants that are 4 feet and more, and taller outside, so with that as a reference I would call a 3 foot plant short ... but when talking about using a 250-watt HID I am talking more like 24 inches or under, likely under given the lack of light penetration a 250-watt will give someone.

I have never used a fan like that so I really can't tell you how much cooling you might get by using one or more.
