250 w how long in veg

hey guys this is my first time growing i got a 250 w mh bulb . how tall should i let my babies get i have 4 growing right now? i was thinking around 10 in. but im not sure any info would be great thanx

10"inch is a good hight to start flowering, just remember, its gonna atleat dubble in size in a few weeks or less

These plants were vegged to about 15". The sativa in the back is now about 4 1/2 feet tall.

thanxs guys ya i know it will double in size i was just making sure since i only have a 250 w i didnt want to grow them to much .

Yeah, that 250 doesnt penetrate very deep, but you can keep it closer than a larger bulb. What are you going to use for flowering?

You can always top and prune it into a short bushy plant.

I usually flower mine at 10" with a 400w hps and i suggest you get some more lighting

i like to allow my plants to reach sexual maturity before i flower her.. you can tell this by one of two things.. either when she starts putting out uneven nodes or when you start to see preflowers..
you can flower before this, but to me its like the difference between a 13 year old girl having your baby or a twenty something year old.. the 13 year old can have a baby perfectly fine, but the baby is gonna go through some stress and probably not gonna end up as good as it would have if the 13 year old would have waited till she at least finished high school or even college and has a good job and etc.. just the way it was explained to me and it made good sense..

im gunna use a 250w hps light for flowering . ass soon as i see some results and make some money ill probly get a 400 w light thanx for all the info guys
