I just bought a sylvania 250 wat Metal Halide light. I have a medium sized fish tank i'm growing in, will the light be enough? And how far am I going to need to keep the light away? Thanks
OKay the tanks dimensions are 1.8 feet (length), 1 foot(height), and 10 inches (width)Can u go into detail on the fish tank a bit more mate. Actual dimensions?
Is it gonna work as a grow box? Do u habe a ventilation plan?
Are the walls mylard up etc etc?
The 250w can be anything from 6inches to 14 inches away. Closer the better.
So a fan blowing on the plants won't be enough fresh air?if u have central airconditioning without* venting the hot air out around the room it will get to about 85-90 degrees. if u vent the hot air from the light u can get to the plant about 3 inches to the plant with out burning your hand. u will get good results from a 250 if the plant is a high yielder.
* keep the light a foot=12 inches from the plant. the plant can suffer from humidty ( wilting) if there no fresh air going into the the fish tank.
