250W Closet Grow - vertical experiment

And you would be correct! Haha yeah I can just about get it below 30C at the moment but I just had to stick on the carbon filter cos I was stinking up the place so I'm expecting it to be at about 30C from now, I know its not good but what can I do I have an extractor fan, 2 small oscillating fans and another fan running my cool tube. I'm just happy it isnt as bad as it was before when it was at 35-40C. For what they've been through though I think theyre coming along well but it'll be nice when winter fully settles in and I can get temperatures closer to 24-25C. But yeah not about to drop a bunch of money on AC so im happy my roomie likes to keep his room cold so hell have the window open in the winter lol.

Oh and the leaf curl has been there since before they were in the heat, that plant was just outgrowing my veg space and hit the lights a lil bit and everything just started to curl so I kinda only put it in flower to get it out of the overcrowded veg space so I'm not at all fussed about the yield from it, anything over 1.5 ounces is unexpected but the buds smell niiiiiice and in person they look pretty frosty so I'm happy either way

Sorry not Posted for a bit, still be popping in and having a Look-see though.. Mint quick question.. How have you got your Cooltube setup and the ducting from and to this Cooltube? Can't remember if you said whether you have Fan on Cooltube pushing or pulling(can make a difference) and Input(fresh) and Exhaust.. just trying to pick ya brains.. you might be able to get Temps down a bit.
You may have said somewhere earlier, but I'm baked so sorry if I'm getting you to explain again.. What sort Temps you experiencing out side of the Grow Room? only reason I ask is because sometimes it pays it mess with how you have it all setup.. to give you idea of what I mean, I've had Temp issues before now on one Grow Cupboard and it did my head in! even found adding extra fans(in certain places) just increased the Temps rather than helped lowering them..

I have a cool tube set up with a fan pulling air in at the bottom so it goes up into the cool tube, I had it on top before but it fucked the fan up and got super hot so I don't wana try that again unless I have a fan I know wont... well melt essentially haha. Outside the tent at the moment is about 20C except at night it drops to like 14-15 I think. the extractor fan is by far my biggest I think its like 280m^3 which should easily do my little cab but I like it it keeps my rh in the low 30's as well as keeping the temps down like 6C from what they would be. The two oscillating fans I have in there are for air movement mostly because I dont want the canopies getting too stale if you know what I mean. Got a carbon filter as well I think it was a 100mm x 300mm, 350m^3 Rhino Pro but I can't really remember (just looked that up on my grow store website so it could well be what I have). I have the extractor getting air out from as high as I can mount it (nearly at the top) and the cool tube running from the bottom where air pulls in to the top where theres another hole) But yeah any advice is well appreciated, this is a pain haha!

Ok so I have to go out of town again this time for 5 days and so I have got my other roommate to watch over the plants this time, I've given him an extensive list outlining all the things he has to do and going through like how much to water and when and everything, I should be in contact with him pretty much daily and hes a lot more reliable than the other roommate because he actually does shit haha but yeah since he hasn't seen a grown start to finish yet I'm a lil nervous he may still find room to fuck up but im hoping he does what we we agreed and gives me daily updates so I can tell him if things arent going the way they are supposed to. Anyway I thought I'd post some pics so you guys can see how it all looks now, the NL in veg is droopy I know but I wanted the pots to dry out properly so I left it a couple days without feeding.

So I got back and roommate number 2 did a pretty decent job, everything looks fine the veg tent has really grown fast and the flower tent looks nice, AG1 will be coming down in about 3-4 days with NL following suit in two weeks. They both look pretty good but the NL really looks and smells epic, they all have pretty dense nugs which I'm happy about. The plan is that as soon as I take AG1 out I'll be putting my NLxBB (right side in veg) into the flowering cab to get that started and get some space in veg for the 9PH and SS. They are both doing ok btw, got about 3 leaf sets each which isnt ideal for their age but after the multiple fuck ups they had to deal with roommate number 1 I'm just happy theyre healthy and growing. Temps in general are getting better as it gets colder out but soon itll start getting below 20 when the lights are off which I don't like so ill have to figure out a solution. Anyway here are some pics (first one is NL second is AG1 then AG2)

So I know I haven't put up an update in a while but theres a good reason for that ive been busy as a motherfucker working my ass off and will probably be pretty busy for the foreseeable future, so Im'na have to say sorry guys but I'll probably only put up posts for important/major things now like smoke reports and shit or if I have a problem I don't know how to fix. Anyway since my last post I've harvested the AG1 and the NL and the AG2 is coming down tomorrow so here goes with the smoke reports from the acapulco gold (barneys farm) and northern lights (sensi seeds)
So far the acapulco gold smokes freaking awesome, I cured them properly and used boveda packs in the jars this time so I had no issues with mold or anything and now that its been curing a couple weeks it smells amazing, its the most lemony/fruity smell I've ever had from bud and although I haven't been growing too long I have sampled my fair share of buds, been to amsterdam and rotterdam a couple times and gone around the coffeeshops for weeks smoking and looking for the nicest buds so I've easily smoked probably over 150 strains and I duno maybe the others werent properly cured but holy shit man this stuff just smells awesome. The high is quite a strong sativa high its not really got any noticeable couch lock and it gets me ridiculously energetic and excited about shit most of the time, that being said I can easily smoke it and work away without getting too distracted which has been real helpful lately. Honestly cant really say enough nice things about it, if you can make it through the 11 week long flower I highly reccomend trying this strain out. The way I see it the best thing to do with this plant is top early but not too many times and scrog cos out of the 4 of them I've harvested so far thats how I've got the densest best nugs/biggest yields.
The northern lights is also pretty freaking awesome, but its so strong that honestly I pretty much just consider it sleep medication, I have yet to smoke a joint of it and make it to the end without passing out 10 minutes later and I smoke a lot so my tolerance is pretty high I'd say although I know theres people out there with higher tolerances. Either way these nugs are dense as all hell they're like golf balls and they're heavy as fuck a little branch of nugs about the length of 2 bics weighs in at 10grams and that's after they've had the shit dried out of them (cos they're so dense I left them out to dry in the air for 10 days before I did the final trim and jarred them up). They're so sticky you cant touch them without your fingers getting covered in resin which honestly is almost annoying at this point cos all my other stuff like my guitar picks and my laptop and stuff is now not only sticky but also stinks of dank. But hey as far as problems go your weed being too sticky is about as good as its ever going to get so I'll take it, and it is real nice to just sit back to a j at the end of a long day and like 5 puffs in your whole body is totally relaxed.
So there it is I highly recommend both strains (and I count this as the first time I really tried the acapulco gold cos its the first time they were mold free and properly cured) but if I had to pick one I'd take the acapulco gold any day of the week because the high is just so enjoyable.
I should be back to post again in a few weeks for the NLxBB harvest/smoke report and maybe put up some pics of the nugs from the AG and NL at some point if I remember but until then PEACE!
P.S - Congratulations to our Canadian friends who will soon be legalizing recreational weed!

Just realised I should also say as far as I can tell the vertical closet grow experiment has been a success, I've managed to get by with next to no bleaching or burning on the plants (accidentally touched a bud with the cooltube while the light was on while I was shifting shit around to get the NLxBB in there) and my yields have definitely gone up because I just have more space to use this way so from what I can see so far I'd say it was a nice little highdea.

So heres just a little update cos im havin a J and I felt like I could take a lil break from stuff for a moment. I've harvested another clone of the Acapulco Gold and left it to dry on the plant for about a week, it smells lemony as fuck right now which is kinda tripping me out because the Acapulco I cut before this which has been curing for about 3 weeks now doesnt even smell as nice, I think it might have just been dried out a bit too much so it may never really get that smell/flavour that this recent one has which is a pain but oh well its still definitely nice bud so no harm no foul as far as I'm concerned. The Northern Lights has really surprised me with the cure, it now kinda smells like mango if I'm being honest which is just not something I imagined weed would ever really smell like. I like it I mean the smell and taste get an A* in my books but the high is just like a full on indica stone like you just melt back into the couch and pretty much go into a bit of a coma for all intents and purposes for like 2-3 hours so I can only really smoke it at night before bed or I just feel like a zombie for the rest of the day. I'm more of a sativa kinda dude so that's not as great as the acapulco gold for me therefore I don't really smoke much of it but I have a mate who loves indica and he came round and ended up staying here for 2 days just smoking and chillin on the couch so if you like indica's I'd definitely recommend it and if your looking for pain relief it definitely works for that just be warned its a heavy high.
From my next generation I'm not sure if I mentioned this but I got the labels between the sonic screwdriver and 9 pound hammer mixed up and one of the 2 turned out male, I think it was the sonic screwdriver so I've got another little seedling going for that along with 3 clones of what I believe to be 9 pound hammer and 1 clone of the northern lights (as I plan to flower out the mother and basically eventually swap the NL with the 9PH but I wanted to keep a clone in case the 9PH isnt as good). I've otherwise still got 1 Acapulco gold clone in veg at the moment which is my only current sativa plant which is kinda shite but I was hoping to have the sonic screwdriver ready for flower right now which it definitely isnt so eh not much that I can do. I've also obviously got the 9PH mother in veg and still got the NL mother in veg atm but as I said might be putting it in flower in the next weekish if the clone comes out well and I probably still will even if not because my NLxBB should be finishing up in the next week and thats the only one I have in flower right now so I don't want to just leave the flower cab empty after I harvest it which is where the NL comes in because it's the only plant I consider big enough to flower.
