the second graph refers to HPS not MH
one other thing, the HID dual spectrum bulbs put out similar to the purple T5

ok looks like my closet only 3x3 lol, I swear this sfv og got me doin shit ass backwards shoulda measured shit but looks like I will pick up a 2 foot 6 bulb later on today, thanks for all the advice guys I LOVE HID but for a grow this small its just not practical..

no peneatration like floresent bulb light only good for about 6 inches from bulb
hps or cmh 6 inches is burnin tops ligt good for about 2 to 4 feet from bulb so all of plant gets benefit when you have good penetration
without just tops of plants get benefit of light
i member i guy tht grew on shelves wit flouresent tubes bent plant horizontal to get benefits from tubes

i hope you get penetration meaning

I think T5's are great for clones or germing seeds. They can veg well but many will agree that they don't nearly compare to HID systems.

MH for veg
HPS for flower

and personally, if you want to purchase a T5 system, you might as well just get CFL's. They're easy to find, cheap, and easy to work with. They will probably veg nearly as well if the CFL's have the same output as the T5 bulb(s).

In my haste i posted the wrong chart
 i have so many :(

See all That wasted PAR in the 500-600nm range?
the peaks are where the light puts out the highest intensity of light
seems plants dont really need that light. Why waste $$ producing that light at all? led's only produce a small bandwith of light within 10nm of a given range (ie 630nm 660nm 410nm etc...very few of the led's are white....) they grow plants....
seems people drink the same kool-aid to me?
Just giving you FACTS
no Conjecture no opinion no "they work great for my buddy" or "thats only good for germinating vegging etc"

@georgeisabamf ok you asked for it ..... T5 has been Proven time and again to deliver!
Please educate yourself before you give advise and use only FACTS. here are two facts for you!

how many T5s you got running there??
one 600W dual spectrum.....thats all i have to say
lets examine your "dual spectrum" shall we? with fact based analysis...
Sunmaster dual spectrum.JPG your so call dual spectrum bulb..
The peak energy output is between 500nm and 600nm
View attachment 1642099heres the photosynthetic ACTION spectrum in these ranges photosynthesis starts working at peak efficiency... Notice that dual spectrum bulb has 80% of its output in the least active regions... that doesent mean it wont grow great plants... but if you move all that light to the correct peak, you will grow better plants.. now all 600w bulbs use 675w more or less from the wall.. then the ballast outputs 600 to the bulb. thats 75w of heat! poof gone not producing light .. then the bulb produces heat which has to be mitigated. heat= inefficiency
Now 1 of my bulbs looks like this.
superActinic_chart.jpg !!!!! NO WASTED LIGHT SPECTRUM PRODUCED!
Great reading here

Hmm interesting T5 vs Hps its comparing a honda civic type r against a ferrari 2 different types of performance each with the advantage and disadvantage.

anyways i say try it out if it works keep it if it doesnt move on simple i personaly tried everything and yes i agree hps has useless spectrum but due to the amount of extra lumens and pentrations its makes it up with the extra red spectrum. i have used the so called dual spectrum and it is a joke campare to the (CMH master colour which is full spectrum) when its says it has extra percentage of blue but with normal Hps its has no blue whats so ever so its abit pointless saying added 10% of nothing to be there in the first place lol.

At the moment im just finshing off with hid bulbs i have, however i found my perfect bulb which is CRI 90+ and is full spectrum and to me it is the similair to the outside sun and yes it has impress me even though it had about 10,000 less lumens then the HPs to me it out performed all round so i be keeping this and it doesnt have that horrible yellow glow. best advise is to try out everything,

Yes i made that comment a few posts back like apples and elephants... i am only trying to show how some are brainwashed into thinking that HID are the be all end all of lighting... the original poster wanted performance in a small space... $ for $ T5 is the way to go. if he had $$$ to burn then led's would be the way to go. hid is NOT meant for small space, when you factor ventilation costs and cooling costs i can add more light for the same $$$ and very little heat..

View attachment 1643706 im sure you can produce one of these for your T and we can compare
ITs nice to see people confuse PAR (Efficiency) with lumines/LUX (brightness) i have yet to discuss LUX or Lumen.
30k lumens from 500nm is NOT going to grow plants... 500k lumens still wont grow plants... PAR values measure The (PERCENT ACTIVE RADIATION) a more efficient way of measuring Potential. a 1 million lumen yellow led panel wont grow anything....its the Specific bandwidth in x00nm range that plants need not LUX
