okay guys these are some pics of the girls that were taken last night when i watered. they already have showed a lot of growth just 20 hours after watering. i've started to notice that. the day after i water growth just seems to explode.
the smallest of the girls is the one that i plucked. may she rip
well here they are. if there is anything you'd like to know about my grow or give advice about please share!
right now i have them underneath 172 watts of 2700k CFLs. i was originally going to use all 264 like the title says but i am unsure if i want to risk destabilizing my grow conditions since i spent nearly a month trying to dial them. once they get bigger i am sure i'll be tossing in more 26watters just to see the effects on temperature though. i already have the bulbs and socket adapters so i might as well
ps i still havent figured out how to rotate pictures. they are always oriented fine before uploading then never show right...
why are they under 2700k CFLs, they are vegging they should be under 6500 K lights. "daylight" is what it should say if it doesnt have the kelvin temp written anywhere.
2700 k is for flowering!

i realize this, which may make it worse in the eyes of some. i've seen some growers use 150 hps on autos from seed and they turn out fine so i figured the difference would be negligible. i'll be making a trip to the supermarket within a week or so- bulbs will have to wait until then. do you think at 2 weeks in it will be worth it to even try and compensate for that if they show sex a week after switching the lights to 6500k it just seems like an unnecessary expense if that makes sense? haha
look i dunno so much about autos my first is in the dirt now about 2 weeks old maybe less and still kinda small, so look im just sayin, i only use 6500 k's directly on top of the plant, really close, i mean as close as possible without touching, and i have a couple of 2700 k's in there just for kicks so the spectrum is a bit balanced. only have great results and very good vegetation
okay. looks like my plants are royally hosed, fellas.
i have been peeping out other auto journals to see what they should be looking like around 13 days in (which is about where my are right now give or take a daY) and it looks like mine are seriously far behind. this is no doubt attributable to my shitty soil and probably the 2700k lighting.
the question now remains what i can do to enhance their growth facilitating catch up to where they SHOULD be. i'm thinking about getting some veg nutes high in N and just pumping because my soil is just about neutral from what i can tell. they are growing but just so slowly. if this were a photoperiod it would not be an issue, i could just veg for a lot longer but since she is going to flower in a matter of weeks due to being auto i dont wana have wasted 2 beans on an 1/8 per plant. that would really suck you know?
any suggestions? i might start another thread specifically addressing this problem. idk yet.
Hey man I'll tell you that I have ruined drowned burned killed poisoned and just about everything but murdered some plants in my day, none intentionally of course but all in the process of LEARNING. and we are always learning.
An eighth is better than none so keep feeding try adding some grow nutes and def switch those lights to 6500k!
At the end of the day the most impt thing is that we remember this is a plant and it likes to be alive so feed it and it will grow. Love her and she will love you back
Jah bless
She doesn't look that small to me, it's true that you could give her some 6500k light and maybe some nutes but be careful don't overdo it. She will grow faster once she have a couple more true leaves.
How often do you water ? and do you check the temps ?
i water every 2 or 3 days depending on how dry the soil is. the more dry, the more likely i am to water. the temps stay between 79-83. pretty sure my soil is just inert as shit and hasnt been providing nutrients to the plant since it sprouted like richer mediums do. we'll keep it going and ill take pics next watering see what you guys think. thanks for the replies
just took these pictures before i watered. since i have no money for nutes i diluted 30 oz of tap water that had been sitting out for a couple of days with 1 oz of piss. yes my piss. at this point i have nothing to lose so i figured wat the hell. gave em a healthy drink each and hopefully they will be showing some better growth in the next few days. i read that 1:30 is a good ratio for smaller plants when starting a urine nute regimen. if it doesnt smell and actually works ill eventually increase to 1:20 and then 1:10 with size. hoping my carbon filter mitigates any piss smell that does produce but i dont think it even will considering the ratio i started with
weirdly enough, the one that has bigger fatter leaves is the one that actually sprouted a couple days behind my other one.
i just looked at my girls after yesterday. they look like they have definitely grown more than ever before in one night. this is encouraging and makes me think i will definitely continue to dilute some piss into my waterings for nutes. i dont care what anyone says, if this works- i'm doing it.
It may be al right to do that but it sounds really nasty lol. Anyway, if it works go for it buddy best organic nutes come from animal shit so maybe our piss is not that bad lol. Did you read anywhere any information about it ? Also do you check the ph of the mix before watering ? Coz I read a thread yesterday about it and it seems that the piss can get quite acidic.
yea it does sound gross but i did some reading as to the correct ratios based on someone who had done it before. and yea i agree, people use animal shit for fertilizer but not our piss? apparently there have been university studies on piss for cabbages and they said it wont affect taste so i dont see the problem. here are some pics for comparison after ONE day of feeding them it. the difference is huge.
and i dont have a PH meter to test. still need to pic one up at the pet store. i'm going to use sparingly until i see signs of burn, etc.
ps there is no piss smell since i watered. could be because of my carbon filter. who knows. the plants smell like some straight diesel if i rub my fingers on the leaves and then smell then but i guess i wont really know how effective the filter is until flowering hits.
even more growth after another night. just watered again using the same 1:30 piss ratio. the bigger one is actually on day 13 fyi. they are a couple of days apart.
really starting to see an explosion of growth. little new green sprouts can be seen where the stem meets other little branches already.
alright here are some pics i took today while watering. the one is BOOMING while the other is not looking so great.... not sure what to do about her, if anyone has suggestions it will be greatly appreciated. at least i have one solid looking girl
