Hello, and welcome to my Grow Journal. The main purpose of this log is to help me keep track of dates, size of the plant, what I did right/wrong.. etc. If you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them if possible. I have attempted to grow last season with the same setup, but had to discontinue it early due to Spider Mites.
This is the second time around. Things will be much different, guarenteed. I have a new friend, who has grown before himself. He also runs a Hydroponic Store (HydroponicHomes.com - Featured in High Times!) , so it has been a great help.
First, let us start off with my equipment.
I have a 25gallon tupperware tub thingy, the top has 5 holes cut into it. I currently have 2 plants ready to sex, and one that has just recently sprouted (which will die.)
I just hooked up a second pump, my first one supplies two hoses, with a third coming from the second pump. I'm told too much oxygen will not hurt the plant, and what does not kill us, makes us stronger.
I have been using Blue Lightning to keep my resovoir clean, and a combintation of 2parts BC Boost , 1 Part BC Grow. With the recent water change, I have added 1/2 Part BC Bloom as well.
I am using a "EzHydro Light" (Yes, I bought the setup, and love it.) - It's a CFL , which produces little to no heat- making it possible to keep the light directly above the plants. I am growing in a spare closet, not sure on the measurments.. but hell, it's an average closet. Perfect, expect for the Spidey Mites.
But I have something to kill them this time around as well, as well as some helpful tips as to exterminating them. I'm told by a reliable source, that a bit of soap, plenty of water, and a little bit of original listerine (the yellowish orange one) - sprayed on to the plant, will kill, and prevent more spider mites for a couple weeks, Sweet.. Wish I would've known this last time.
You see, I have yet to harvest my own crop. I grew outdoor, and had to discontinue due to it's massive height- my neighbors could have seen it quite easily. Then, my indoor grow with the spider mites.
Now, Back to the plants themselves.
I do not know when I started them. The earliest pic I have is from May 13th, and they are about 5 inches high. Now (Pictures coming soon.) , they are about 9-10 inches, and I just switched the light cycle from 24hours light (for at least a month.) down to 12/12 to sex them. Let's keep our fingers crossed for some vaginas to sprout out.
This is the picture I took on May 13th.
More pictures will be posted within 24hours. I need to transfer them from my card, to my moms computer, to a blank CDR, to my computer- so it'll be when I get off work.
All comments are welcome, The only thing I left out were the seeds used. I could only get my hands on some commerical seeds, but from what my buddy told me- it should still be some good bud. I am even going to name it.. after myself. I have yet to finialize a name, but when the bud shots start coming, you'll defiently have a name on them.
The only thing at this point I'm unsure of- is time frames. I am into the third day of sexing. Can anyone tell me how long it will be until the buds start to take form? I haven't had a plant bud for me yet..
