i had tried some papaya seeds, but out of 10 of them olny one sprouted and it died right away.
so here we go with the bagseed, it was decent stuff.
4 out 4 survived, makes me think i got bad seeds? anyway i had them under cfl's for the first 2 weeks. today they got more light. 400mhs.
the top of the plants are 10" or so from the light. 24/7 light cycle
the soil is happy frog from fox farms.
they've been getting fed miracle grow, mixed at half strength.
i have a 10-10-10 fert that they will be getting starting the next feeding.
they are in a 36" x 24" cabinet lined in mylar. it is being vented outside, with intake air coming in at the bottom.
all suggestion and comments are welcomed:peace:

the girls has bugs, the top of 1 plant was solid webbing, with all the leaves stuck together. i pulled them apart and cleaned them.
i treated them with a fine dusting of boric acid. has anyone else tried this treatment?:peace:

the boric acid did the trick, gave em a bath tonight and didn't see a thing. some folks on here are suggesting a tobacco soup. and i've heard and read about it in several differnt places, so i'll be picking up the makings for some. yum yum!!!
on another note, the temps in the closet has gone nuts the last few days, up in the low hundreds. i've got plenty of air blowing on them and they have plenty of water. the temps will be more managable when the weather starts getting cooler. the humidity has been hanging around 40%. :peace:

boric acid huh?? what kind of bugs did you have? ive been using garlic oil on my plants trying to hold down a fungus gnat infestation. does anyone know if boric acid would harm your plants in anyway?? im very curious about this.... thanks

my girls have problems. the lower leaves are turning yellow with rust looking spots. maybe after affects of the mites? i soaked them down last night with a tabaco soup. any advice?

willravage have you ever used the boric acid for pests before?? did it bring you and issues among your plants. what kind of pests do you think the boric could take care of? thanks man. peace.

I've heard of it, generally used on plants who are further into veg, If I were you, I would of used D.E. (Diatomateous Earth) It has no chemical compound and will kill any pests.

the girls aren't looking any worse tonight, but they don't look any better either. i've used boric acid on my vegtable garden for mites with no ill effects. i'm off to read plant problems, maybe i can find something there.

after doing plenty of reading i decided to flush. all the pics and everything i seen i believe this is nute burn. :peace:

changed my diagnosis, ph problems. so the flushing they got the other night was straight up 7.0
i see plenty of new growth at the nods. they sure are butt ugly. i'll post some pics later

ph problems from the boric acid, it's in the name, i feel like such a big dummy. must of been stoned. damn sure got rid of the mites, but i'll never, ever use it again.

so i made a bubbleponics setup, going to put these 4 butt ugly plants in that and see what i can do with them under cfl's.

and 4 papaya seeds will get planted in their place. i'll finish that project tommorow after i go get a fresh bag of happyfrog soil.

damn, my plant isn't even, close to that height yet :(
i'm still working on mine though

hope your plant, turns out fine, good luck

if these plants live and don't hermie out, i'm going to forget everything i've read about stressing plants. pics later

if you like the couch lock, your gonna love the papaya. i had a couple fems of papaya about 4 years ago now from nirvana under two 150w hps's in some expert perfect mix potting soil. it has a very nice taste with a very strong high and its very easy on the eyes. i vegged mine for 3 weeks and they got huge when they flowered. probably the best white strain that ive ever grown. peace and good luck.

ill remember never to use the boric acid. sorry for your loss but, thank you for the heads up. you might have saved some people from ph problems. your a RIU hero. peace.
