2nd Grow Just started - Tangerine Dream, P.E., Bubblelicious, Arjans Strawberry Haze

all but 1 Strawberry haze has popped out of the root riot plug...they all look healthy and strong...the one that hasnt came up is on the verge. i can see it about to poke thru... current temp was 88 and 86% RH.

heres the latest pics of my 6.5 seedlings... i think one of the strawberry's is dead...??? i also have a lil spotting on the Pineapple Exp. i havent used anything in the water besides ph down to get the ph to 6.0... i hope its not a bad sign of things to come....DUN Dun dun...ummm okaaay. but yeah heres some pics of my seedlings with a lil map drawn behind the larger photos... i also added a few pics of where my next grow will be...IN MY BASEMENT!!! DUN Dun dun!!!...... ... ......alrighty then...im gunna paint my lil work bench white to help a lil and bleach the floors, but thats all i can really do...maybe ill bug bomb my basement before i set up my tent...that would be smart i think...also added a few pics off what im working with minus my grow tent which is in route...

It was a close call...I thought i might have lost 2 of my girls ..I accidentally watered them with water with nute mix for flowering...luckily I am kinda doin a flush on my himalayan gold so the nutes were just under 1/4 strength. i watered them and then went back and checked em 3 hrs later and 1 TD and the P.E. were getting fried...when i realized what i did i quickly emptied the water in the grow dome and flushed plan ph water over the grodan and tried to wash out the flowering nutes. i added a weeeee bit of revive and crossed my fingers..well its been 1.5 days and ive taken em out of the grow dome and into the grow tent into a basic DWC with an Agro Son Hortilux 400w mh. Also added 40w of CFLs by the TDs. the temp is at low 80s and RH is 35. I added 2ml of each AN Micro, Grow, & Bloom as well as 2ml of revive into each bucket which has 4gls of ph'd water. they have recovered some what. the TD isnt looking like a willow tree anymore and kinda reaching upwards now. the burn stopped and the newest leaves are looking ok... The Bubblelicious and the other Tangerine dream is looking really healthy and a vibrant green color. I still have 2 Strawberry Hazes in the grow dome but im waiting on my last himalayan gold to finish so i can get the bucket, pump, and fan so i can get it up and going in my tent...ill be having 6 going in the tent soon...2 Straw. Hz., 2 Tng. Drm., 1 BUB, 1 Pnple.Exps .. i have 2 - 120 mm computer fans with a variable speed control. ill be getting that shit hooked up in next few days...im just waiting on getting a scrubber so i wont have to redo it when i really need the scrubber...i wont use the scrubber now but i want to get the exhaust setup and ready for a scrubber when needed...im also bidding on 2 inline fans on ebay...maybe ill get them and ill have to change it around again...so whatever, i dunno, the temps are staying low enough...if you have any advice please please please share...

hi combat, nice lil set-up there, looking good so far, quick question, you mentioned using "4gls of ph'd water" do you ph your water before adding your nutes, & forgive me if i'm wrong, but shouldn't you ph the resevoir after adding nutes

yeah you are right i should check ph afterwards...i have 25 gls of bottled ro water and as i open them up i get the ph to 6.0...the new AN grow,micro,bloom formula is ph balanced at 6.0 so it wont change the ph that ive set the water to...i check the ph in the res's twice daily when all is running smoothly...when i awake and before i go to bed...when i was having issues on my 1st grow i would check it 3-4 times daily until the ph stayed stable...most nutes are not ph balanced and will cause a change in levels. also im not using a lot of nutes just 6ml of AN GMB & 2ml of AN revive oh and 1ml of h2o2. but thanx on the nice comments...

ive just decided to cut the lights on my himalayan gold...they will spend 3 days in the dark with a few mls of AN Flush...seeing if this will maybe push out a lil bit more THC..i dunno...sounds good...i need the gear and its flowered for 12 weeks, sooooo. its done...

Ive added a lil 6" fan on the exhaust hole on the top to suck out some top floating heat. i put the ETC neg ion fan also in there...then i placed a vortex box type fan deal by the entrance with it mostly sealed up to suck out more hot air. opened the window just 3 feet away and i can feel the cool air being drawn in thru the lower vents....i really need to get this exhaust deal situated to its final design so i dont feel like its a scab grow...

Also i had the tent up and mostly running for 2 days before i transplanted the seedlings. i filled the buckets up and ph'd em, got the bubblers going, set up the lights, & tried to see what temps im running at before i put my plants in there...

YES!!! im now a marijuana TOKER!!! finaly i have confirmation on my smoking status...ive only been smoking since i was 13...im 32.... i roll joints like its my job and i love my job and i get bonuses at my job and the bosses daughter blows me at my job and he dont care...thats how i roll my joints... 1 handed... thats right 1 handed....looks like a perfect joint... the fatest part is 2/3 of the way down to the lighted end with a nice straight even taper down to the mouth end like a spliff but not so big...its an art..its a science...what most people dont understand is that the 2 smost important part of rolling a good joint are... not too much paper and the weed must be broken up properly to keep the joint from running into a canoe. even if you roll a straight up prego joint with bell bottom ends kinda like stair railing ballasts, your joint with still smoke and still wont have that dirty pipe taste... as you can see im a joint man..i have 1 glass chillem, 1 glass bubbler, and 8 diff packs of pape's... yay im a marijuana toker...

the TD and the P.E. are not looking very good. they have a light discoloration...i gave em 2 ml of revive, and 2ml of each An Grow, Bloom, Micro into each 4 gal res's. the temp is staying around 95f on the black plastic lids but the room temp is 81f...RH is tough for me to get up, its staying around 30%. i added a 5gal bucket full of water hoping its would disperse some moisture into the air... but yeah the 2 ugly ass looking plants...i feed em the wrong mix and the 3hrs later i flushed as good as i could but not till after a few leaves were straight up white powdery like coated and burnt...but they have been in the new home for 3 days and the light color spotting has not gotten better, if not worse...what is it? i looked for mites, didnt think that was the prob, just had to cross it out so i know...the 400w mh is about 25" above the plants but i have 4 26w 6500k cfls hanging just near each plant...do i added more nutes? do i added nothing...should i add some more revive? HEEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPP!!!
also i have 2 seedlings still in my dome...green mold/moss has grown on the root plug...is it a goner? its just now starting to have a light spotting on leaves..i added a few drops of h202 directly onto the mold spots and dropped about 8 drops into the about 1 liter res the grodan is sitting in...there is no air circualation in the dome...should i put some? should i toss the seedling with mold and moss? is there a way to get ride of the mold and moss? what the fuck is going on...im having more probs my 2nd go around then my 1st...

I'm not a hydro guy at all, kinda just for this reason. Kinda looks like heat stress to me. Try cutting those Cfl's off. That's a 400W right?
It's plenty for plants that small. The TD are fucking with me too.
I have no clue on those nutes, but never would try AN for anything. Snake oil research to me.

i was thinking from the heat as well...i did over feed them with flowering nutes but i think they should have bounced back from that already. i have a 120mm intake and 120mm exhaust with 2-6" clip on osculating fans and 1-12" oscal. fan. the air above the light during day time is 82f but on the black lids it gets to 91f...should i cover the black lids with some foil or metallic tape? i have mad air circulation in the tent now...the burns and maybe some of the pale spots are from in the grow dome when i over feed and it was also very hot in there as well...balancing the temp is a science that im trying to learn. im just figuring they should be looking better in 3 days in the new tent..

It's the edges of the leaves curling up, that made me think heat stress. I wish I knew more of Hydro stuff to help. I've seen people put the metallic tape on the lids. 82 is fine for a temp. But remember Metal Halide or Ceramic Metal Halide have UV-B in their spectrum which has more radiant heat. That's the lids being 91, so I'd raise it a few inches, & cut off the Cfl's.
By snake oil research, I mean Advanced Nutrient claiming un-proven numbers. Ingredients are trade secrets, analysis is un-verified. The prices they charge are insane. This all with research in Eastern Europe, then marketed with labels with women & big boobs. Plus some of that shit is 0-0-1 as a N-P-K for tons of $$.
It's a rip off to me & know none of their #'s and combos for their use.
But I'm a former landscaper, so soil grower. I just hate to see guys wasting money when products for stuff can be cheaper. Hope that helps, and explained what I meant.

i gotcha. snake oil is a term used for bull shit research...i raised the light. right now its about 30" above the lids. im gunna cover the lids with metallic tape...lets hope this helps them out. and ill just keep on using the amount of nutes im currently using...

I added 2 seedlings that were in my grow dome and got a lil moldy so i pulled em out asap...my buddy was gunna take em but he hasnt been able to drive out my way. i added a few drops of H2o2 directly to the mold and a few drops in the petri dish then flushed over the plug and grodan with plan phd water...the mold almost immediately went away so lets hope its all good...

I also put metallic tape around the black plastic lids...the lids would get super hot like 90f+ and the water in the buckets were getting 80f. with the metallic tape, the lid's surface temps have gone down dramatically. the above the light temp has actually gone down as well...its at 80f. i need to get the water temp down to 75f...

I rigged up a 6" fan to blow directly on the light, that should help a lil as well. there are a lot of wires in the tent but all are off the ground besides the middle parts of the cords of the air pumps. dont want a spill and a short.

I've got the lights on a 20-4 schedule. i dont believe in keeping em on 24hrs a day..just seems natural they need a repair time and a cool down period. plus it will help my electric bill a lil.

Here are the latest pics as of 3-20-11 ive added the H.G. and a A.S.H. im having some issues with the H.G. there was mold on the root plug and grodan when i took it out of the grow dome...i actually dropped a a few drops of h202 directly onto the mold and its looking better. still worrying about that tangerine dream #2 its still super pale and very sad and droopy...lets cross our fingers and keep her in our prayers tonight...

ive got a total of 2-120mm fans for intake and exhaust, 3 osc fans, & 1-6" fan blowing directly onto the light...thats some air movement....intake runs directly to the window..i put a vent filter at the end to keep dust and bugs from being sucked in...

i moved the light up to 30" above the lids to help control the temp... dont know but im thinking that distance im loosing a lot of lumes so thats why i have the 4 cfls...daniels says drop the cfls they are overkill that are not doing any good just wasting electric basically. he didnt say it like that just said no need...i had em off for 2 days then i put em back on...

room temp is staying nice at around 79f (+-2) and since i put metallic ducting tape on the lids the lid temp has dropped 7 or more degrees plus its shiny and reflective...i know its reflects the light instead of absorbing it like black does thats why its cooler...which also lowered the water temp to 74f...from 81f

If anyone has any suggestions please chime in...im new at this and learning as i grow(lol...instead of learning as i go...). thanx and enjoy the pics of my sexy lil bitches...
