2nd grow, Nirvana Bubblelicious closet scrog

Back and looking better than ever

I pulled them out today because I had to take the prop out from under Cheyenne's pot because she had reached the lights on the screen. Put a smaller prop under the pot so now she is even with Bubbles.

Cheyenne is growing tall and slender while Bubbles is shorter and bushy. My two Little seedlings are going really well too! I germ'd another seed out of that batch and gave it to my friend with the other deathstar & bubblelicious we have growing.

Does it seem like they are growing a bit slow to you guys?

Bubbles caught up to the lights so I exchanged the prop under her pot with a smaller one.

Bubbles has had a rough life lol Took these pictures last night before I made a few changes in the grow area, changed position of the plants too. Seems to be fixing the canoe leaves on the top. No idea why that happened, they haven't been too close to the lights and temps have been constantly 82-86.

Cheyenne is looking great though as well as Chadwick. Had the other seed out of the Chadwick batch break ground and shed the shell.

I guess it makes sense due to all the new bushey growth but does FIM intensely slow growth? I feel like they should be a little larger than 8" tall lol Starting to get impatient... Considering raising the pots and shortening the gap from them to the screen. I set the screen 1' 11" from the floor and the pots are 10" tall.

Hey man looking good. Yeah whenever you top or FIM it slows growth for a week or two until the plants recover from the stress. Don't worry that they are only 8" tall. When using CFL or low wattage hps you want short bushy plants because the light penetration isn't that great with that type of lighting. When you start flowering they will double in size.

I know it's early but what do you plan on growing next? I'm about 2 weeks into a Nirvana Northern Lights grow and they look pretty good so far.

Yea but it's been a month since I did the FIM. I'm fine with it though, i'm sure the FIM will be way worth the wait.

As far as the next grow, i'm gonna pop the freebie (Reserva Privada, "Coletrain") I got from the bubblelicious order. Then i'm gonna do a pick and mix from attitude and prolly do somethin like White Russian, Sour Diesel, Big Buddah Blue Cheese, maybe's= Chocolope, Kushberry, or Strawberry Cough/D-lite

Thanks for the comment though, gettin old posting and posting with no feedback. If I just wanted to take pics all the time I woulden't have bothered posting and kept them on my CPU.

Good luck with the Cole Train. I had two of them from two separate orders and tried to germ one a couple weeks ago along with some other seeds and it never popped. Someone said it takes a week sometimes, but I gave it like 3 or 4 days and figured it was a dud. I also heard you can lightly scuff the surface with a matchbook striker to create some pores for better water penetration. Still have another one left I might try it next time.

Yeah I know what you mean I have over a hundred visits to my journal, but few posts. It's nothing spectacular, just 8 or 9 plants, but wouldn't mind the input since I'm pretty new to this. I wasn't really expecting much, but I wanted to keep a detailed record for next time. Check it out if you have time the link is in my sig.

heyy man watsup?? well glad to see that things are still going good man!! they all look great!! cant wait for them to start flowering!! yeaa i FIM'ed my WW plant.. and she took about a week to fully recover.. but its deff worth it. i had to get sum string and tie the tops closer together tho. lol. but shes doing good now. i bet ur girls are gonna put out sum nice buds man!!

And all is well, going great actually.
Tilted my fan upwards at the floor level so now it's blowing the hot air up instead of to the far wall.
-As a result, bubbles leaves have started to spread out more and the canoe effect on the leaves is dissapearing.
Little Chadwick is kickin arse as well for only being grown with 2' T5 40w Flouro tubes.

-I'm about ready to throw Chadwick in my Kenwood speakerbox that I have modified and start to flower it. painted the inside with roof coating, cut a hole in the back and installed a small fan to act as an exhaust. only 1' 8" till you reach the top of the box though so I gotta make moves or it's gonna overgrow the box.

-Anybody have any suggestioins as to where to buy a good 125w CFL for flowering? I'd rather use that than multiple 26w CFL's due to ease of install and keeping temps low. Also, feel free to chime in if you have had any experience with these types of CFL's.

-It's strange that you say that CHB, I feel like all my tops from the FIM are growing too close together. They both have two dominant tops that reach high up, then two on the sides that are lower on the plant, and one in the middle doin it's own thing. I was considering stringing up the tops on the sides to the side of the rubbermaid tub I have the pots in so that the light could reach them better in hopes that they would catch up vertically with the other two dominant tops.

-Should I just leave them alone and let them do their own thing till they hit the screen or would tying them out to the side be beneficial?

Thanks for the input you guys! Ima' check out your outdoor thread you have linked and see what you have goin on there Sonar. I was considering starting an outdoor spot in my yard myself, so I have been doin some research in that department anyway.

Without further adue:

Hey man I was checking out higher wattage cfl a little while back and stumbled onto this site
http://www.growlightsupply.com/bright-wing-cfl-grow-light-p-67.html
It's pretty basic, but I think the price isn't too bad for the bulb and the fixture. A bunch of smaller wattage ones would probably be a little better since you can direct the light better, but like you said it's kind of a pain in the ass to set up. I don't have any experience with high wattage CFL, but I think it would be like any other CFL. The penetration I would think is better than low watt ones, but the tops of your plants are probably going to get the most light. It might be necessary to supplement the sides with a few lower wattage ones, I dunno. I guess it all depends on the yield you are after.

Also, check out http://www.htgsupply.com/ they have some pretty good stuff there too. I have a 250w hps from them and it's the shit, but too hot for my room. I bought it off my friend for $40 and he never used it. Not really sure why he just didn't buy the 400w since it's the same price. Anyway, check it out.

So you been growing them off of T5 fluoros? I thought in your OP you said you were using CFL? I'll tell ya what, a lot of ppl talk shit about fluoros, but I think they work great for seedlings and early veg. They are cheap and throw off very little heat which is ideal for a closet. I'm using (2) T8's, which are smaller than T5 and I'm able to grow them for about 2-3 weeks with it.

Man, I looked at your outdoor thread and wrote a BIGASS comment, then RIU shit out on me and quit loading when I tried to post it...

Just the lil ones on top of the screen from the "Chadwick" batch have been grown with T5's. My bubblelicious ladies underneath have been gettin CFL action the whole time. I'm really not concerned with yeild from the chadwicks.

Just doin those so that I can get a little smoke while I let my Bubblicious ladies Cure after the harvest. I coulden't hold myself back from burrowing into my harvest two weeks into cure last time so I am trying to come up with a remedy for impatience lol.

I would be stoked if I managed to pull an OZ. a piece off of them but I feel thats a lil unrealistic. Maybe a 1/2 per plant in the speakerbox? The reason I have been contemplating higher watt CFL's for the speakerbox is because they don't require a power strip and don't have to hang down vertically. Every inch of height I can get will be important in there. Not to mention the heat factor, although with the speakerbox idea it is only enclosed by the speaker fabric so it should breath well with the fan also.

I really would LOVE an HPS but they are pretty pricey for my budget at the moment... Just picked up a second job just so I can pay my bills.... one of my roomates (Chad, hints the naming of the lil plants) just moved out so bills went up by a 1/3.

Thinking I might just try flowering with CFL's again this time. I figure Scroggin' will work well flowering with CFL's due to the even canopy, not as much light penetration needed. It's gonna be heart breaking to trim the leaves from underneath the screen once they both reach my screen. Just seems like a shame throwing away good green growth... On the plus side it won't be a bitch to get to when watering anymore.

Haha, yeah that happened to me a few times before. I think RIU logs you out after so long of idle, so when you do a really big post by the time you submit you're logged out. Usually I'll copy a long post before I hit submit just in case that happens I can just log back in and paste it.

For those who knock CFL powa', i've got 4 generations of healthy CFL plants :hump:
Everything's going great!

It took longer than I expected to recover from the fim but they are back to growing at a good rate vertically.

I think I am about to rig up the speakerbox for action today and start the flowering process for the 1st gen Chadwick while I let the 2nd and 3rd veg a bit longer.

At this rate i'll be perpetual if they all turn out to be females! (Fingers crossed) If not, no biggie. I woulden't mind having a male pop out of the batch too badly. I could test out the waters of breeding then.

Bubbles are gettin big, started the transplant today with Cheyenne. I am upgrading to a 5 gallon pickle bucket. When I transplanted I noticed the roots had reached the bottom of the pot already. So I transplanted right on time :) Included a few comparison pics and also a couple of the flowering Chadwicks in my speaker box flower compartment.

Got a new (now all gone) 1.5 cft bag of ocean forest from my closest hydro store along with some clonex gel, scalpal, & PH/Light/Moisture meter yesterday.
When I got home me and my roomate transplanted all 3 Bubblelicious plants we have going into 5 gallon pickle buckets. Thought we were doing it out of precaution, turns out it was necessity! These rooty bitchez had just outrooted the pots they were in when we transplanted them, good timing:hump:.
All of them have responded greatly with some more room to let the roots explore. My two are actually almost touching my screen now with the boosted pot height.
So shortly I will begin training them into the screen. Looks like longer than the 8 week veg period I was planning on will be needed... It will be worth the time though I know it.

Thanks man! I had fun putting my Flowering speakerbox together for the little guys I want to grow lol.

On that front, the OG 1st generation of the "Chadwick" is showing sex now. Can't get the pics to zoom in enough because it's just showing early signs, but it's looking like my efforts were not in vain and it will be a girlie!
Can't tell on the smaller 2nd generation Chadwick yet. Call me hopeful but I feel like it's a girl as well.
Snapped a couple of pics in the closet of the bubblelicious ladies today too.

Next time you take pics can we get you to hold something up next to the plants for scale? Like a ruler or a dollar bill or something. I can't tell how big those plants are at all.
