Hello RIU, I am getting ready for my 2nd grow and am considering Ocean Forest with additional worm castings and perlite. Is there anything else
I need to ad, if so what ratio? And about how much perlite should I put at the bottom of pot. I was also considering coco with perlite and castings,
but already have all the Foxfarm nutes, both trios, but don't know if that's a good idea with coco. Also do I need some type of cal/mag for either OF or coco?
If you have constructive info please tell, bullshit that doesn't mean nothing, keep it, already have it. Thank you, and appreciated.

if you use coco youll have to feed more often, and youll have to use distilled water or filtered phd tap water.

ocean forest doesnt need anything added. sunshine mix #4 doesnt need anything added, until the plants enter veg stage. then you need to start a feeding with a 1-1-1 npk feed plus mild micronutes. i think biobizz has all you need in one or two bottles.

coco does something weird with calicum or magnesium, i cant rememeber which one, or what it does though.

you can cut with 10-20% more perlite or vermiculte if you really want to..

If you are growing in coco you may need to add calcium and magnesium.
It depends on if you use tap water or RO and what is in your tap water.

I run coco and add about 7 ml of calmag to each gallon of RO water.
Don't listen to bmeat, he kills plants in soil and has never grown in coco.

Thank you Trousers, I'll be using ro with alkaline when ever the damn system gets here. Is product in coco harsh or is it more like soil?

coco is inert

some coco needs to be rinsed as it is dried outside

I put mine in a pot and run tap water through it until the water runs clear. Then I put it in the posts, not packed in tightly.

coco is hydro, and it likes a ph of 5.5-6, hence why i say filter the ph buffers our of tap water. trousers is just mad.

soil likes a higher ph. im running some better soil now, full of long strands of peat moss. organic soil will produce the stronger, tastiest buds.

the biobizz products come with ca and mg, plus a lot more micronutes that are necessary in trace amounts.

ca and mg arent the only necessary elements for a plant.

You really do not know what you are talking about. You have no idea what you are babbling about.
You have never grown a healthy plant and never even seen coco yet you want to give people advice about growing in coco?

You want the ph at 5.8 in veg and you can raise it a little in flower.

Not for a shitty grower like you.
