2nd LED Grow 90w

My last grow with this light encountered a few problems and my yield suffered greatly for it. This time I will be doing a single plant scrog in a 26"x20" area blocked off from the rest of my grow. I am currently sexing 6 plants and will be selecting a female for this grow once they show.

Strain: unknown cross from a friend
Light: Haight Solid State PPF-400 (90w)
Substrate: 1:1 mix of peat moss and perlite
Container: 8 gallon rubbermaid tote
Training method: 26"x20" scrog

All feedback is welcome, just don't be an ass. First update will be once a plant has been chosen.

Of the 6, so far two have shown female and one male. The other three will hopefully show sex in another day or two.

yeah..no pics no care...basically find a camera on ebay...canon, nikon, sony, olympus are all good brands...I notice the ones with optical zoom(not digital zoom) above 3x are usually decent cameras overall when looking at any of those brands

Of the last three, one showed male and I decided to give the other two to a friend since they hadn't shown sex yet. Tonight will be the females' first night of going back to veg, and will start two fem Mi5 seeds tomorrow to get in an additional harvest.

Ended up ordering a camera last Friday to get the sale price, it should hopefully be here in a week or two (backordered). In other news the Spectra 500 I ordered a while ago and kept having trouble with finally arrived last week with new power supplies and hopefully in perfect working order, but without a power cord. Contacted Mike and he said it'd be sent out Monday so waiting on that.

Far as the plants go, both are fairly healthy and in good shape overall. A bit nutrient deficient so I gave 3/4 strength veg nutes with last watering. Will be repotting both plants tomorrow, and will start flowering within the next two weeks depending on how quickly they respond to the transplant and training.

Decided to repot both plants into the rubbermaid together, instead of to separate pots, to move things along quicker. Might actually be ready to start flowering them by end of the weekend, they are moving along pretty quickly and I don't want to risk running out of room.

Haven't updated in a bit, finally got pics of them. These are from Sunday, that was first day of 12/12 for them. I'l get current pics up tomorrow when lights come on to show progress so far.

looking good so far man, keep up the good work, seems like you might have a Mg def, inter vienal chlorosis is a dead give away.

Yup, I'm picking up some CalMag tomorrow, seems to be a really common thing with LEDs. Thanks for the heads up though man.

So one of the two showed some balls today, not pleased. So I ripped out the herm and now the one female looks a bit lonely but oh well.

This shows the tent right now. Setting up a few cfls today for the tiny ones to start under instead of the big light.




The 90w is inside the cabinet from the above pics with the female about 6" under the light. Did some more super-cropping today also.

Yep, she's been basking under the 90w sectioned off from the big light by being in the cabinet. Thanks for the compliment, I'm very happy with the light.

Last round my yield was shit from two small, untrained clones (less than a foot tall each), so this time I wanted to try two slightly bigger ones and aim for 1gpw using training. Unfortunately it's only the one plant now since the other female went hermy but hopefully I'll still get a halfway decent yield off this grow. Last time my friend grew out these genetics he got just under 2.5oz from one plant, I'd be very happy with anywhere near that considering I was planning on having two plants sharing the light instead of just the one.

I'll get up some new pics in a couple days when she's shown some noticeable growth. The stretching so far is much less than what I saw when my friend grew it, his nearly tripled in size the first three weeks. After a week of 12/12 she's only stretched maybe 20-25% which I attribute to the light at least in part since my last grow with it saw minimal stretching as well.

Man those led lights are very tempting and ive been thinking about buying a 90w also. Maybe a xmas present to myself, lol.

For a single plant in a small area a 90w light can work very well. I replaced a 150w hps with it and am more than happy with the switch. The only exhaust required is a small desk fan or a couple pc fans to get some air moving around since this unit has no internal fans. It vegs nicer than the hps imho and flowers about equally, but with far fewer complications.

There's also a new version of the one I'm using that's only about $30 more, and a new version of the 180w model. The newer ones have improved diodes, more spectrums, and are brighter for the same wattage. If they come out with another upgrade in a year or two I might get one in the 180w model.

I'll get updated pics tomorrow, light were off when I got home tonight.

New pics from yesterday, 12 days since flipping to 12/12. Trimmed out a bit of lower growth but left most of it. Had to raise the light a bit yesterday, still isn't stretching as much as I'd expected it to. Pre-flowers are starting to develop into more distinct bud sites now.

Deficiency going on?
