Aloha all,

I'm an outdoor grower but I would now like to start an indoor setup for spring/summer harvests but am baffled by the choice of grow lights. I'm a commercial grower but do pride myself on the quality of my product and do not wish to sacrifice quality over quantity. I am also concerned about stealth and safety and would much prefer a low heat setup which also means I can continue indoors in the hot summer months without the headache of temperature control.

With all of this in mind can any of you give me advice for the most efficient setup. I have 2 seperate spaces of about 2 square metres each (6.5 sq feet?) I was thinking of having one for veg and the other for flowering. I would like to know what lighting options are best for these 2 chambers and which wattage to opt for? I don't mind high initial investment if cost can be recovered with efficiency over time.

HIDS: Metal Halides for veg, High Pressure Sodium for flower. That's where to start. For 2 square meter, that's like 18 square feet I think? 1 meter x 2 meters = 2 square meters. 3 feet x 6 feet = 18 sq. feet. At a goal of 50 watts per sq foot you are looking at a 1000W HID for each chamber. Go from there. Heat will be an issue. Plan an exhaust system that can handle it.
