3 600w Aircooled hoods connected to filter and 8" fan?

Would I be able to connect a 8" carbon filter and then and 3 600w air-cooled hoods to a 8" acoustic box fan in a 8ft by 4ft grow tent? or would I have to use different fan for the filter and a different fan for the lights? also were would I put the fan?

Common order is Fan pulls air through filter and pushes it through the 3 connected hoods, with hot hair being exhausted out the end (generally want the exhaust outside of setup). You can have 3 hoods in series big factor will be your filter and fans CFM. CFM will determine if this setup will adequately work, all about volume of air in your space and how fast your fan can remove old air and replace with fresh per minute.

I dont follow no guide on this but I go 400cfm minimum per 1000 watt so w 600s I would say 250 cfm per light. So 3 x600s is 750 plus filter 150cfm for that and you should be good. If you r pulling air thru tent then thru lighy you need carbon filter. If you pulling outside air thru light and exhausting back out then a cheap filter to keep dust debri out is all that is really needed.

That'll work fine. My setup is similar, if you want more room in your tent you can also put your carbon filter on the outside with the fan pushing air through it. Just put a coarse filter on the intake side of the 1st light to stop shit being sucked into your lights.
I have always found this to be a useful tool - http://cannaversity.com/calculators/lighting.php

Would be better to pull from outside throu lights then back outside.

Specially in the summer when warmer. Could work in colder winter months.

I don't see how your plan works there chief. How does he cool the grow tent if he is only drawing the air from outside, through the lights and then outside again? We're only talking about 1800 watts of lighting here. Why not suck the warm air out of the grow tent, through the lights, out of the tent and through a carbon filter? That way he don't require a second fan to keep his tent cool which would use more power usage, more noise.
If you have issues in colder months, invest in a fan speed controller.
Keep it simple.

This just my opinion tried with carbon filter on end lights an never work for me.

As once room warm up your only pulling warm air over the lights.

I had 1500cfm fan too.

So changed it to pulling from outside the building throu lights an back out building again an added extra fan with carbon on to pull out the room.

But again I even struggle with this in summer months.
