I left my seed in a paper towel for threee days but no signs of germination should i just plant it straight away in soil ?

Is it in a zip lock bag and in a warm place. Example I put the bag on my router to keep it warm.

Good morning op...is there any signs of the seed cracking or opening at all?
If so, yes place into medium.
Just an fyi, another very good method is a simple overnight soaking in a glass of tepid tap water.
They will float at first, but in the morning, tap the seeds with your fingertip....if they sink they are viable.
Allow to soak overnight again, then place directly into medium.
I am a bagged soil grower, and use an initial soil with as little to no nutrients and good drainage as possible.
This is good for seedlings or clones(nutrientless medium)
Keep warm as stated above.
I believe I am about 95-98% successful over 4 years.
I also use the two solo cup method, one clear for the medium to watch root growth, and a dark outer one to shield the tender young roots from light.
Hope this helps.

Only when they float can you be sure it's a dud...usually viable when they sink.
I use this method because handling seeds with a delicate taproot became a pita. This method works really well for me.These are my current run from about six weeks ago.

Ensure you put good drainage / aeration holes in the clear one, and drainage holes in the dark outer one.
Good luck.

I germinate my seeds the same way and have had a near 100% germination rate since I started that method a couple of years ago.

Don't sweat it just yet I use the paper towel method got some wwxbb seeds a few weeks ago it took them 8 days to show tap root just keep paper towel damp hopefully they will come

I lost a gsc girl just the other day left in paper towel 2 days saw where root was going to pop put in new soil not knowing I needed to completely soak it with water for it to start holding moisture. Got too dry i lost her so I made a new hole and replanted straight to soil. I hope this one sprouts i only have 1 more.

Too much handling.

Much easier to soak seeds for 24hrs then straight into soil then bingo......usually I have babies within the next 24hrs in the soil.

48hrs and all up is the usual case for me.

Like these 5 seeds, 3 different strains from 2 different seed banks.

You know when zips came with at least a 1/4 zip of seeds we used the paper towel, cause most had been crushed or had weird mold and wouldn't germ...

It would be just stupid to put a ten dollar seed in anything other than soil
