3-haired single calyx?

Hey guys,

I've tried researching this a bit, but I can't find any info on the subject. On one of my friend's plants, I've noticed that there is a single calyx growing at the 2nd node up on the plant, and it has 3 hairs, it also refuses to grow and no other calyxes, crystals or leaves have appeared next to it (I'm assuming due to a lack of light). Am I incorrect in thinking that most calyxes have only 2 hairs? Is this normal, or a developmental mutation of some kind; and could this potentially be a good thing? I'd like to upload some pics but my camera is pretty fuzzy,I might try later if this isn't a total newbie question and actually worth talking about. Thanks for the insight.

This is kind of weird, now this single calyx has begun to mature far before the rest of the plant. Being only a few weeks into flowering, every hair on the plant's buds are still white/green, but this one solitary calyx's hairs are already turning amber. What, if any, is the explanation for something like this to happen?
