3 week old clones help!!

these clones are 3 weeks old and they have small roots the longest the roots get are about 1cm. iv heard that there roots should be much longer and comming out of the rockwool but they are not, i want to transplant them into soil today but i dont want to kill them and the bubble they are in right now isnt doing much for them its just come clones in rockwool in a bubbledome with the vents open. and actually today the bottom leaves on one of the clones started turning yellow.....HELP please on what to do next idk?:leaf:

Did you ph the rockwool? if rockwool sits wet for a while, the ph will climb, which is why it sucks. I threw my rockwool away (no I didn't), it's better left for hydro where it gets flooded and ph'ed several times per day.

Get yourself a starter tray with coco pellets in it ($8 ), and keep them wet. 45º cuts, scrape off the skin, and dip in rooting hormone ($5-$22). Keep the tray warm and wet, and you'll have roots in a week. I won't whore out a substitute, but fuck rockwool. There are plenty of ph-neutral alternatives out there for soil growers.

no i didnt ph the rockwool, but i did soak them in some superthrive and water mixture before i cut them at 45 degree angles then dipped in the gel then a little skinning then put in the rockwool but that was 3 weeks ago. lol

they arnt growing roots in the rockwool, think it is ok to transplant them into soil with the rockwool or should i take them out of the rockwool and put them in coco pellets? i just want to see some growth out of them so i can put tem in veg and watch it go

i think im gonna buy a new water filter cuz my water here is pretty hard, then by some ph up and down and some test drops and some pellets. and be as careful as ever and try to transplant them, its just i really dont know whats the right decision and i dont want to sress them and then they die

Sounds like you're stressing more than your plants. Try using distilled water. I took clones every week for 2 months before I started getting 100%, unfortunately, some of your clones will die before you reach that plateau :)

Clone like a madman, you'll get roots no doubt.

I bought a simple tray/dome and heating mat cloner for around $40 and a tray of root riot cubes.
A fool proof way to root clones in 7-8 days. 100% success rate. That's not to brag, it's
a compliment to root riot/clonex. A small amount of clonex comes with the tray of cubes.
100% success, provided you know how to take cuttings.

haha i am stressing because its been 3 weeks and no growth just little baby roots but thanks for ur advice Xcon

yeah i have a heat mat and a dome and a couple 40 watt lights, when i first got the clones i put a cm of water/nutes in the bottom and then put the dome and they lived like that for a 18 days then a few days ago i seen that nothing was happening so i took the water out and opened the vents. i started with 8 and now have 3 that are still living. its been a couple days and they havent died but 2 of them have there bottom leaves starting to turn yellow..... i just wish they could be like "hey zach i need u to turn the temp down mist me a little every other day and run to the growshop and get me this nute"

too much light. I've cloned from 400w all the way down to nothing. The more light you give your just-cut clones, the faster they turn yellow and die. Just try it, cut some fresh clones and warm your tray in the dark. It works for me 100% with gel and starter cubes.

well its a red and a yellow/white bulb is what im useing and the red one did die on my a week ago and it did take me a few days to go and replace it but it did still have a light source

...and this has resulted in dead clones, correct? Why not try a different method?

It almost seems like once you learn how to not baby your clones, and force them
to push out those roots, it gets real easy to propagate.
It's like throwing your kid in the water, and hoping in seven days he's learned to swim.

I clone in rockwool all the time. You just need to know how to do it right. The main problem is rockwool that if its too wet, the stems will just get white balls on them and never root. keep rockwool damp but not wet and they should shoot right out. Also soak the cubes in PH'ed water for 20 min before using the cubes, thats all you really need to do for the ph issues. I get 100% success rate with rockwool. the rapid rooters work great too but they hold water differently and have larger holes so i don't think they work as well for smaller stemmed cuttings. Anyway, too wet is most likely your issue.
Xcon is right too, you just need minimal light, i use a 23w 18in. T5 per tray and thats probably even more than i need.

thanks man, i was thinking that it being to wet was my problem, especialy since the way i started my clones was with about a cm of water in the bottom of the bubble tray and im sure it was at lest 90%rh in that dome for the first two weeks untill i open the vents.i took out the water a few days ago and actually i just ripped one open and it had a couple that were close to breaking out of the rockwool so im pretty sure takeing the water out, drying the rockwool and then just watering the bottom of the medium is what i needed
