i might have just the advice you need my friend, id be willing to give u advice, i have a cabinet even smaller than that and i can run 3-4 plants in it, super healthy and super beautiful, i have tips on venting, temps, lightproofing, lights, anything, im no guru but ill give whatever advice i can, your gonna need a few bucks but im down to help a fellow grower, what specific advice do you need upfront???heres some pics of mine, im very satified with it...how much is your budget?..experience level?...are you good with your hands?can u build anything or u wanna buy it all??DSC02397.jpgIMG_20110524_194229.jpgIMG_20110526_214233.jpgIMG_20110524_194426.jpgIMG_20110524_194411.jpgIMG_20110526_214618.jpgIMG_20110526_214014.jpgIMG_20110524_194142.jpg

wow el, thats a huge budget, if your a first time grower id definitely stay away from hydro as it is quite a touchy system, any power or pumps go out or PH level gets outta wack and your toast (and way fuckin pissed,lol)...id definitely run a soil grow, its much more forgiving and manageable...first off you have to realize that the plants will get bushier than you think so dont get over crowded, in that amount of space id do like 4 plants...dont go out n run and buy clones or plant seeds just yet, make the cabinet, run it for a day or two and have a hygrometer/thermometer in there, test the temps and humidity...if your anywhere in the 30-60% humidity range and you can get the temps between 70-85(max) farenheit you should be fine...

probably going to use a 4" rvk exhaust that i was thinking about putting in its own box and sound proofing it for extra stealth then suspending it from the top with rubber rings. 4" acoustic ducting throughout. maybe a 250 watt HID bulb.

on the soil front, ill have to water that everyday right? how water will they require? is it a good idea to go with the autoflowering/miniature strains, or will a normal plant fit in there alrite?

you have the right idea but try to keep as much stuff out of the cabinet as possible (if possible) a huge fan in the top of a 4 foot cabinet is gonna suck when the plants grow more...keep in mind a 3x3x4 cabinet is only 36 cubic feet, u dont need a terribly strong exhaust fan to transfer that air inside the cabinet...u want to cycle the stale/hot air out of the cabinet u wont need a windstorm....

heres what i did...if u can get some really stromng PC fans and make a light proof airbox u can fit them to the side of the cabinet... its baically a pc fan encased in FLAT BLACK poster board, inside the air boxes are a series of staggered pieces of more posterboard inside, thus making the air travel around the staggered pieces easily but light cannot travel around corners so it cant leak out...IMG_20110326_103838.jpgi run a 400 watt bulb, u might wanna do the same cause a 250 and 400 cost about the same and 400 has much more output...

i havent personally seen any autoflower strains that can yield as highly consistent large harvests as regualr females...you definitely do not have to water everyday, put all the soil in the pot, probably a 2 gallon pot or so, and then pick it up without it being watered, remember the weight as close as u can mentally...then u water heavy and when the pot feels that light again in 3 or 4 days, water again...

u know what, it will be but like i said, u will run out of room fast, believe me, we almost have the same size cabinet, my cabinet is tall but it has a shelf inside and my usuable heighth is 54 inches...and i ran out of room fast when i over vegged my blue venom last grow...id for sure run regualr females but only veg them to a foot tall or so...4 - 1 foot tall plants will stretch as soon as you go 12/12 and will end up being around 30-36 inches depending on the strain at final heighth and should give u a good harvest for a first grow...
