Whats up guys,

That super humid new england summer is setting in good in Vt. My flower room humidity at lights off are getting to 65-68 and that’s too close for comfort. I have about a 10X 15 area. with two HPS in there, 750 and 650. Also have an 6in exhaust and a 6 inch inline from outside ( if the humidity is low outside it stays a lot lower inside obviously) right now it’s like been 75+ humidity for days in a row so it’s starting to affect the grow room.

What’s my best bet for a dehumidifier? I have a like, 80$ one in there. It’s pretty small and dosent seem to hardly collect water, and dosent really lower the humidity at all.

Are most set up or capable to be setup so once it gets to 50% humidity in the room it will shut off or keep it there ?

how you going to get rid of the heat dehuies put off.if you just suck it out that just brings in more high rh air, this is why I shut down inside june-aug .you need to look into ac to run in the summer.

Temps arnt that bad in the room. Didn’t realize they put off so much heat.. i would just be running it during lights off when temps are already down.

I have briefly checked out a vpd chart but nothing crazy. What i need to be growing in like 65degrees to have a humidity at 45 according to that?

I guess i’ll just grab a decent 50 pint one that’s good on electric.

I think these past two weeks and the next week will probably be the worst i’ll encounter, until like yesterday everything was pretty good temp and humidity wise.

Might get a AC for next summer since i’m probably through the brunt of it hopefully.

Right now with lights off for 5 hours it’s 77 and 63 humidity. Not the best but with tons of air circulation hopefully it will avoid bud rot and PM.
Lights on has been 81 with like 51 humidity, im content with that.

Also that cloudline inline fan that has humidity control and whatnot, does it actually control the air that’s coming though ?

Is that worth the extra cash?

Ac or not. For that size room a 70-pint would be my choice.
But as noted by others there are variables to consider.

My 4x8x8. I have a 50pint set to 45% humidity on a timer. Powers up 15 minutes before lights out. Powers off at lights on. Sealed room. (30pint was weak and ran all the time)

Okay.

And when it is on how much does that increase your room temp by?

How is your room setup as far as intake goes? If you have central air you might be able to get your humidity down by pulling your intake from the house instead of outside. Also I noticed you said you only had a few more weeks of humid weather if that's the case and your not in the last few weeks of flowering I wouldn't worry about it. I have regualry hit up in the 60's for humidity during lights off and never had an issue. The only time I've ever had any issue was bud rot and only a few grams were lost, I personally think it was from flowering too long, was damn near 80 days when I chopped em cause was in no hurry and wanted to try a longer flowering time.

No central AC in the house but i’m intake is from outside. Just running during lights on(night time)

That’s good to hear, yeah i don’t think too much humid weather is in store but who knows honestly. I’m in week 5 and 3 of flower right now

Only run it after vents kick off, don't waste your money. Mine keeps my room good to go and has a drainage port so you can hook it up a hose to the outside, into a sump with a pump or however you want to set it up and never have to empty the tray, which holds 6 liters of water. Keeps my RH within 10% of the set % which is plenty good enough for me. Its a bit more than your $80 but will serve you much better then buying it twice when the first doesn't keep up. Also of note, in the 60% RH range I wouldn't bother to dehumidify at all. I keep my room at 65 with nary an issue. Filter the inbound air and keep your plants healthy.
