nice i like it, dont listen to people if they put your set up down because your not using HID, your bud is looking good. I am actually considering flowering under my veg CFLs just to expieriment and see the diff. If i do that ill get a journal going to show diff between HPS flowering and CFL flowering.

if you use the veg cfl's it will come out crap. you must use 3000 kelvin or flowering cfls. veg cfls are rated at 6500 kelvin. see the plant uses more red in flower and blue in veg, if you give it only blue with very little red in flower then buds will be crappy. fyi. so go out and buy some warm white (street name) or 3000 kelvin as they focus on the red spectrum like 20 times more than the other spectrums (like blue green etc. are only a fraction of the light in warm white lights).

I use CFL for veg, they work quite well for that purpose, and HPS for flowering.

The suggestion on getting low color temperature CFLs for flowering is good advice. The blue light found in high color temperature CFLs is going to supress the amount of auxin (a class of plant hormone) which will likely cause a lower yield. We want to supress auxins a bit in the veg stage due to excess elongation so we use a CFL with more blue light for veg. We want lots of auxin in the flowering stage so we use a CFL with more red and less blue light.

tech is right...and when i say do not be greedy with nutes....dont think more nutes=more buds give it just enough nutes...not too much.

and tech i have HID which are more efficient than CFL's just not ideal for my grow..I support anyone who grows cheeba anyway its grown under any light in any medium on any land as long as uncle sam keeps his hands out of the stash.

wow.

im impressed. Those buds look delicious. And way more than i would need for a personal stash. I need to do this.

Explain your setup please?

Your cuttings case has how many of what kind of light?
And your grow room?

What was your total yield for that harvest. Looks to be like 5 oz at lease

Well, I use CFL's because They are safer for my particular setup. They work great for me. My last harvest was 4 oz of cured bud off of one plant grown fully from CFL's Use the general rule of thumb . Lumens per sq ft. Keep in mind CFL's do not penetrate well so only the top 14 - 20 inches gets good bud. At this moment I have 4 5 foot sativas with 900 actual wattage on the canopy and 100 watts from each side (for under canopy) 3000 watt equiv.

They vegged wayyyy too long, I ran into a spider mite prob at an early age and did not want to flower until i eradicated. So I have monsters now.
THey are fighting eachother for space in a 3 foot by 4 foot area in 5 gal buckets of soil. Things I have Learned. Grow more plants smaller!
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS PH your water!
Never NEVER get greedy with NUTES!
Bringing in another plant is like unprotected sex, you want spider mites? Dip it in some insecticidal soap and monitor it for a few days first!
WATER IS LIFE BLOOD proper water is a must
I will soon post pics of my budding fems
I guess a minimum of 2oz per plant
a maximum of 4 oz per plant
one more thing
to get maximum size buds you need to keep the lights half an inch from the leaves, pain in the ass when your girls grow 2 to 3 inches a day. now the buds double in size every night i swear.
So for anyone that says cfl's produce popcorn buds, I disagree. The grower creates popcorn buds. I see baseball bat like colas. Give me a few days to get batteries for cam. These pics are from my last harvest.
Excellent work. Enjoy the spoils.....:joint: What is the highest watt CFL you are using? I recently added two 42w cfl's to my cab and I had to move them further away from the plants than I would with 23w or 26w bulbs because they were gonna burn the shit out of my girls. It seems to me the 42's burn much hotter than the smaller watt cfls. Thoughts?

This is just not true. Many growers use a 6500k spectrum light for flower, they are called metal halide. You can use the "blue" lights without a problem. Yes your yeild will go down, but your plants will actually produce more resin.

Many experienced growers will mix their MH and HPS to get the best of both worlds. Plus, growers spend big money on HPS lights with an enhanced blue spectrum, such as the Hortilux which has like 30% more blue than standard HPS bulbs.

Yes your buds will be a bit smaller with the 6500k than the 2700k, but the amount of THC and resin will be greater if grown under the 6500k. This is just kind of a trade off growers make. If you want, use half 6500k and half 2700k and you will have a great mixed spectrum. For my veg I use 200watts of 6500k and 50watts of 2700k, and in flower I use a 600watt HPS with the enhanced blue and it works great.
