They produce no heat really. The lights are cool to the touch and any heat that they do produce is already taken care of seeing as there are about 8 fans built into the LED light constantly cooling it, but the exhaust from these fans is cool as well.
My reservoir really shows the difference as at the end of each week there is about 5 more gallons in the LED res than in the 1000w. and currently there are more plants under the LED that the 1000w.

The dimensions are approx 1ft by 1 1/2 ft. Pretty compact.

yup....what he said. haha i find that i only have to water my ladies once every 2-3 days and they are fine. (again...im using coco) much much less evapo-transpiration going on due to the reduction in heat generated by the lights. works for me! :)

How did you led grow go? Also are you sure that led is hard to pick up on thermal scans because I thought that they still put out a high light content but not the yellow that the human eye sees. I seriously dont know the awnser so dont take offense for me asking about the thermal. Thank you

im in an area thats not concerned with fly-overs. more so just extra heat and energy consumption. about the yellow spectrum...not with the leds i bought. only white blue and red. if anything...it'll look like a terrarium lamp :D bongsmilie

Really I'm not sure about fly overs, I only know what ive heard, and we all know how accurate hear-say is. I have always thought that the fly overs look for high heat spots and high concentrations of IR radiation. So as far as hot spots go, the LED isnt producing one.

Damn guys, I'm still struggling to find a camera and I really dont wanna buy one so I took pics with my phone again and I will just describe everything to the best of my ability until I get a high res cam.

To supplement the loss of plants due to them being males , we chopped down 2 fems and cloned those bad girls. That was a few weeks ago, and they are looking great. I used my homemade cloners and I have just under 40 clones that ive put straight to 12/12, and also 5 mothers that are as of tonight under my 1000w Mh in a grow tent.

I also set up another drip table for those 40 clones under a 600w Hps.

LED:
Those plants are budding everywhere, there are already crystals forming and they look great. But I've taken some pictures to show some kind of discoloration in the leaves that occurs if the leave sit against the glass on the LEds , its strange and it isnt burn marks.

The 1000w is looking good too, but while the buds are bigger they are not showing any crystals yet, and they are not as plentiful as under the leds.

I'm using CFL's for my current grow but I'm not happy with the results...even though I'm using 4 250/55w bulbs my plants look weak and droopy.. so I'm wanting to get a LED light...I found some on Hydrogrowled.com and I wanted to know about the quality of the light...if you had a chance to pick again would you pick there lights??...btw I only have 2 plants in a bubble setup so I proably won't go with the 300 that you use

Nice grow everything looks great! I can't believe these new LEDs that are coming out. New tests are showing that the 1w LEDs that most of these sytems use are half as bright as the 2w+. Check out this video

The manufacters say that anything above 2w is not reliable in any kind of a large wattage light because of heat.
I want to get an LED going as I have only used HPS in the past. This kind from advanced was talking at the Cannabis Cup saying that the technology for LED is incredible and in 5-10 years only LEDs will be used.

My dream light is this 600W 6 BAND LED with 2W LED. It is said to be better than 2k+ of HPS light with no heat all from one source! Makes me drool just thinking about it.

Just finished reading the thread from page one.....awesome pictures and details....anyways....i am currently trying to find someone who HAS pulled a good yield of dense buds before I go spend a few G staks on lights....long story short cant set up new electrical so LEDS are my only hope....im crossing my fingers...love what im seeing...keep it uup

Hey everyone! I know I've been delaying on the shots of the flowers but here they are at last! I also took some shots of my clones that I put straight into 12/12 under a 600w HPS.

I'm happy to say that the LEDs are definately out performing the 1000w. There are tons of buds and they are so iced out im beginning to wonder if i should even trim them up as well as i usually do because the leaves would probably put you on your ass just the same!

I will make a second post right after this so that there is no confusion on which photos belong to which.


Below are the 1000w HPS and the 12/12 clones in flower.

Wow, I'm really surprised how airy and small the 1000 watt buds are and they don't look finished. The LEDs look better, good job!

So, are they at 6 or 7 weeks flower? How much longer do you think 'til you're harvesting?
