300w x2 LED DWC Pure Indica - First Grow

kontraband, maybe by any chance u wrote ur ppms? i would want it weekly so i could start my first dwc... i read on couple places that in dwc it have to be lower than lets say rdwc as all roots have to be submerged in solution. Some places mention in.. some dont.. so im confused here a bit.

I love the galaxyhydros i also started with 2 of them. I got 4 1/2 ozs dry off 1 plant when everyone laughed at me and told me it couldn't be done with those cheap lights. Im on my 2nd run now im in my small closet & i added a 400w hps/mh and a scrog on half my closet. I got a NL#5, WW under the scrog & a big bud by itself. I flipped 3 days ago. I really love the scrog technique so i decided to give it a try. Happy growing heres a few pics of mine hope u don't mind.

If you start at the beginning of this thread I post my ppm's and notes along the way. I would encourage you to read through the whole thing before you follow any of my steps. This being my first grow I made a lot of mistakes along the way and reported on wrong doings in the notes. So there maybe some numbers you see that I later reported as being too high or low.

I have no complaints with the lights, for the price and power consumption I thought they did decent enough. I'll know more once I can get some dried totals. I'll probably do 1 more grow with these lights before I decide to upgrade to something a little more powerful.

Final Day

I finished harvesting over the weekend, I have some really nice choice buds, and I have a lot of small popcorn bs buds. I feel pretty happy with what I accomplished on my first grow. I definitely learned a lot of what not to do's so I am expecting improvement on the next round.

Everything is hanging up to dry inside the grow tent. I have a humidifier keeping the RH at 50% and a portable AC unit keeping temps at 70F. I will check each day using the snap technique on smaller branches until its ready to jar them. I already purchased mini RH's to keep track of them in the jars so I feel like I have a good grasp on what to do to cure them.

Will post final pics in a few days once they are dry

Ive been using the gavita bags for curing they work great! Theyre cheap and you just drop 1 in the jar and it keeps the RH at 62% perfect cure

I have some of those, but only going to use them if I experience issues

Update:
So I used all the trimmings yesterday to make bubble hash. As sticking to the theme of the rest of this journal, I fucked it up. I had the clever idea to use a drill and grout mixing bit to stir the ice bath up. This pretty much just broke the trimmings into pulp which turned the hash greenish. Im still gonna use it to make butter but not planning on smoking or turning any of this into vape juice. Next go around I think I will just invest in one of those bubble washer machines and call it a day.

Buds are still drying, the small stems are still bending and not snapping. Expecting another day or two on the dry then I'll weigh it up and jar it.

I got a small washing machine for $40 on costway. I’ve used it a few times, works great. Apparently they’re really common in Asia, and are dirt cheap. The “bubble machines” only have sliiiiiightly better motors for extended use. But unless you’re running a shitload of trim through it all the time it’ll last.

Final Weight: 175.76g

Everything is jarred up and ready to cure, looks like I dried a tad to long, the jars are sitting around 56% RH so I may need to add humid paks.

I was hoping to get close to 8oz, but I am happy with my yield for my first time. I learned a lot and plan on beating that number with the next grow. It'll be a few weeks before I start back up, I wanna work on changing my set up and take a small break. Stay tuned for the next journal.

I bought a Cloudponics Gro Controller that I plan on using this time to automate a lot of the process. I also got some better lighting and am changing from DWC to Low Pressure Aeroponics. Full details will be posted in my next journal.
