31.5x31.5x60?

Hey guys, due to limited space, I purchased a Homebox Small grow tent. I have all the ingredients for a DIY carbon filter so odor is not going to be a problem. I've spent countless hours reading up on soil so I have that under control as well, but I have NO experience with lighting, at all. I want to put 3 plants in this room, what do I need for lights? I know Im gonna need different lights for flowering and vegging, but I don't which they are lol. I would like to keep it under $250, but If it's more, it is what it is I guess. Please give me some advice guys, I torched my last plants with the wrong light, I don't want it to happen again. I'll keep an update going with some pics if I can get this thing going. Check out HTGS's 400 watt system. With your price range, you could upgrade to a cool tube, which will help keep heat down in your tent.

they have a 400W if you want it, but I'm using the 250W in the same size tent with no problems.

And it's a switchable ballast so you can use MH and HPS bulbs

Gotta, How many plants can I effectivley grow in an area as large as out tents with that lighting system(I like the 250watt,gonna shop around and pick one up)? I was hoping for 4 with room for clones...I have 5 seeds that I ordered from Nirvana, I want to keep four for growing and use one for clones. Eventually I want to work it out so I can be harvesting every 4 weeks or so.

The ability to switch bulbs is a sweet option, def earned my money.

Thanks Gastanker, that one looks pretty sweet, too! This is gonna be fun. I had some stupid little grow lamp that def wasn't powerful enough--all 14 of my plants grew tall and anorexic looking and I either torched them with stupid nutes my buddy gave me, or that devil-light just threw off too much heat. So I decided to seek some proffesional opinions before I attempted another grow. Failure isn't something i'm used too lol, I was devastated when I got home from work and my babys I started as seeds in my dresser were crispy and very much dead Bygones be bygone though, Im back with a vengence.

I have the same grow tent and *had* 4 healthy plants in there. After a week or so of flowering (I even started flowering way early) I felt the tent was too crowded. I'm sure with proper pruning you can squeeze more in there but I unfortunately didn't quite expect my babies to be so fat and leafy.

On a different note if you do get a 400 watt you'll definitely have to have either an aircooled (or water cooled for some big bucks) system or some form of AC to keep temps manageable. Heck even with a 250 watt I'd spring for an aircooled one just in case (depends on your ambient temps of the surrounding area).

how many plants you grow depends on how you grow them, I imagine you could fill the tent quite nicely with 2 plants and some side-lighting. I've got 8 < 12" plants in mine that are doing fine. if I was vegging mothers in there(maybe next time) I'd keep two on 24/0 and the clones would probably be ok in their shade

you're gonna need two tents for a continual harvest
