Do a search for "flush" if you're interested in hearing answers. It's been discussed over and over and you'll find opinions on both sides in your search.

Because you can't remove anything from the plant.

When "flushing" is done in professional gardent, it isn't done to flush nutes from the plant, it's done to flush nutes from the media, so that the plant stop having available nutes to uptake during it's final ripening phase. I can point to some pretty advanced grow ops which do flush, and others which don't. Personally I just stop feeding in the last few days before harvest, but sometimes not, kinda just depends where my res is at, but no need to make a fresh batch of nutes and fill up a res 5 days before harvest IMO.
