Im just getting started on a closet grow tent, 3ft x 20" x64" and im trying to maximize lighting.
Will the mars hydro reflector 144x3w be too big and WIDE.
With that width, im only less than 2" from the inside of the tent walls. any suggestions, would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

Don't cheap out on the LED's!

Just get a 400w HPS....double the photon output at the same cost....Par Watt cost of the Mars is $9 per 1 PAR Watt....while a 400 is around $1 / Par watt....no brainer....

Cheap leds mainly emit low photon counts and they grab your wallet....

Either research and prepare to build or spend more upfront for a good Led Fixture....

This is how you compare the Mars....it has about the same efficiency or less than CFL but costs about 4x as much.....and the 144w x3 draws about 150 watts from the wall....

Yeah...thanks for the advice...I still haven't pulled te trigger on the led 144x3w...I've seen it draw 280w on a Kilowatt Meter, along with 21000 lumens...To go with a 400w HPS w/digi balast, and grow being upstairs In a closet...it gets hot and humid up there. Might have to invest In a noisy exhaust fan w/ducting and so on. That's why I would sacrifice the 120w & yield of course. And go w/led. if I can find a quiet inline with or even a scrubber for odor & circulation...It could work. LED was never my first choice, just trying to make it work in my situation ...again, Thank you!

Look at the 6" Vortex...I have heard its power efficient and quiet...starting to get some play...

okay and 280 watts and 21000 lumens...fine...that is about 103 lumens /w.......My 110w fixture is average 150 lumens/ watt

150 lumens/ watt is Spec....I am actually getting higher readings with my Lux Meter, but I shouldn't have posted the 29,000 lumens # the other day.....But I made a disclaimer before hand too...

My lux meter was @ 18" from my lights.....and registered 29K dead center....although, it definitely fell off at the edges still averaging over 14K though....

But I would rather, use a better metric.....
with a conversion of to PAR and PPFD, I was still averaging about 700+ ppfd........
