Hi!

I have a 4 inch ruck extractor fan.

I measured my temp with a digital thermometer on top of the ebb and flow unit (I bent some cardboard over the top a few inches above the sensor to stop the light heating up the sensor and giving inaccurate readings.

I'm using a 400W HPS in a very confined space.

Nothing is growing in the closet yet I haven't planted. I wish to grow a very small amount so I know expert growers will often say to change this and that to advance yields, but there really is nothing much I can change about this closet :(

Getting very low yields is fine.. I smoke about 1oz a month tops but I just want to know if I can get any kind of yield with this temperature. All I want is a bit of nicely tasting smokeable bud.

Next year I will be using a bigger closet.. with my current extractor fan (4 inch ruck) as intake and a 5 or 6 inch ruck to extract... I know what to aim for but for now I am stuck.

EDIT: Made my setup more obvious

I just added a 6inch clip on fan to the closet.. I clipped it next to the grow light so that it is pointing directly at it.

Seems to have reduced my temperature by about 5 degrees, then again my heating isn't on at the moment. Maybe I can find a way to disable the radiator in my bedroom (oh the things we do....)

I do have a 4 inch ruck extractor fan as my first post says.

From the temperatures it has become apparent isn't big enough for my closet space and light power.

Hm, by "really low yield" do you mean not even enough to keep up with an Oz per month habit?

i dont know... but do you heat the water in an ebb and flow?... is it not giving off heat ...and a false reading?

Hard to say, too many contributing factors. But even if so, unless you plan to get it big enough to start cloning your gonna have a down time. So if you smoke an oz a month, You would need like3-4 oz to keep you groovy until your next harvest. But you have two plants, and lets say you top em, or have really good nutes or something; who knows, you may just have the perfect setup to keep you satisfied. Rule I'm quickly learning about growing MJ, EXPERIMENT..! All strains are different and respond to different techniques. Got to find the best method for you. Keep up the good work my friend, happy smoking !

Downtime is okay.. just the thought of not smoking at all is depressing. My ex-boyfriend got the contacts.. and I got. Wait, I got nothing but a headache.

Nothing is growing in the unit at the moment... doesn't even have water in. Just turned on the lights and extractor fan to check temperature. BTW I'm using a 4inch hole as a passive intake.

I once flowered 2 plants in 34c conditions. As you can imagine, it didn't go over so well. Both plants took forever to finish, 10 weeks for an indica variety. and while the smoke was okay, yield was terrible. Both plants were nearly 2 1/2 feet tall and I harvested approximately 35g of dried bud. Brutal!
