35 Degrees tonight

Got slightly above frost at 32 here last night. Top of the car had frost and no plants anywhere did. MJ can handle a cold shock just fine. A freeze is actually when the temps are at 28 degrees, this when damage has the potential to occur. Generally though, it takes successive frosts or a harder freeze to really cause any die off.

Pretty scary time of year of outdoor growers, fer sure. Depends on the strain, of course, but over the years I have found most strains (especially with the density of growth on the plant) can survive mild frost, even. I use 5 gal buckets (with handles) so when I am really freakin over the threat of frost, I will nuzzle them up to other shrubs or even close up next to the house overnight for safety. If you cannot move them, (occassionally I plant right in the ground) you can use plastic grocery store bags and just cover the most exposed buds overnight. As we approach harvest (Sativa-within the next 2 weeks / Indica-another 4-5 weeks {Midwest}) everything depends on that first hard freeze date.
I think you got that backwards, indicas finish first (8-10 weeks of flowering most of the time) then sativas (9-12 weeks some even longer!).

hes right about the flowering time but sativas cant last as long in the cold
I was only talking about the flowering time sorry should have made that clear, but I dont think I said anything about which could last longer in the cold weather but most of the time all the indicas are allready cut down before any really damaging cold weather arrives.

Ya my sativas definitely need until mid October, they handled the cold weather recently just fine, but only got down to low of 36. Here's hoping the buds really pop in the last 3-4 weeks, tons of hairy bud sites and lots of trichs showing up but not much bud mass yet.
