36"x20"x62" Setup?

Hello,

I have purchased the following items for my grow tent setup, which will go into my closet. I can't go any bigger unless I put my grow tent setup in my detach garage( its very dusty in there). My goal is to have an odorless grow tent and I would like any advice on how to grow as optimally as possible for this size.

1. VivoSun 36"x20"x62" Grow Tent
2. Growstar 300W UFO LED Grow Light(108W actual from plug)
3. AC Infinity S4 Inline Fan 205 CFM
4. AC Infinity 4" Carbon Filter 210 CFM
5. 4" x 8' ducting with 2 clamps
6. Growbags 5 gallon
7. Soil from local garden store
8. Fertilizer ( All purpose miracle grow)
9. Autoflower seeds

So my questions are...

-Is my above list sufficient to have an odorless tent? What should I invent to next to make this better?
-Should I grow just one plant? or two plants? Should I do SoG method?
-Are there any nutrients/watering regime you can reference me to?
-If my filter and inline fan are inside the tent, does my ducting need to extend into the attic or can I just let it blow out air into my closet/room? I really don't want to cut a hole into my ceiling.
-Should I move this to my dusty detach garage and get a bigger tent?

hlg 135 kit would be perfect for that. You could use megacrop, it’s great one part nutrient and it’s cheap but helps produces great buds. I would use 6 1 gallon pots in a tent that size and just sog the sucker. Bigger is nicer but depends upon your space and what you can afford.
better option would be make that a clone tent and do a perpetual sog in a 3x3.

I'll definitely look into buying that light kit or a better one, after my first run.

I like the idea of MegaCrop since I only need to use that and it seems popular, will definitely order on Amazon. Hopefully this is it.

I'm going to order some 1 gallon grow bags and perlite right now to try SoG on my first run. Also some duct tape to seal where the duct, fan and filter connect.

Ideally the tents should vent to outside or another room, not the attic as that can cause mould .
This keeps the air from recycling and increasing in temp, humidity and keeps co2 depleting.

However with such a small grow it will likely be fine just venting it into the same room.
Its important you keep an eye on the humidity because if it goes too high the carbon filter wont work well.

The light you have is underpowered for the space but use it for now and maybe don't fully fill your tent and upgrade later.

You will be moving into the garage very soon, take my word on it. Everyone expands if the option is there.

Tent will go to garage as soon as night time temperatures reach 50F, it is currently 40-45F.
I will only grow 4-5 plants, in 1 gallon grow bags, since my light is underpowered.
Keep humidity at 40-60%.
Run lights at night in hopes to keep tent warmer.
I'll definitely upgrade my lights after this run.

Main problem I see is your light power. With 108 Watts actual draw, it's about 20 Watts per square feet while the recommended is 40 Watts or more per square feet. I have to tell you that your yield will greatly suffer because of it but if you are fine with that then okay. I just find it a waste to go through all this effort and time and have a small yield at the end. Your current light is okay for veg, but starting flowering, it will under-perform. If you are able to purchase your second light at the time you switch to flowering, you will be rewarded with much better yield.

What is good is that you bought a fan where you can control its speed. If you notice odor then try to lower the fan speed so the air takes more time to go through the carbon filter. I would say that it is very difficult to completely get rid of the odor especially when buds start forming. that's why venting outside could be an good option to not concentrate the smell inside the room.

I'm going to return my current grow light and look for an alternative to purchase on Amazon.

Would an HLG 100 kit work be sufficient? Instead of the HLG 135 kit? I cant find that model on amazon, but below is the HLG100 that is in stock.

Well as you can see here, the light you linked is only 95 watts.

Your area is about 5 square feet. You should strive for at least 40 Watts of actual power draw per square foot which amounts to 200 Watts actual power LED. Any 200 Watt actual power LED grow light will be good for your situation.

Thank you, I keep thinking the equivalent is the number I am looking for and not the Actual Power.

If I purchased another of the Growstar 300W(108W Actual Power) and ran two of those lights at the same time - would that be okay? Since I would have a total of 216W? Sorry not sure if thats how it works.

Your thinking is totally correct and that's exactly how it works. Actually I personally prefer having two less powerful lights instead of one more powerful light for better light distribution and heat management. So yes you can go ahead and acquire another one of those Growstar 300W(108W Actual Power). Using the two lights, you will end up of an average of about 40 Watts per square foot which is very good.

Finally to get the most out of your lights, don't place them too far from the plants. And as the plants grow taller, try to maintain the distance between your light and your plant canopy.

Your gonna wanna slow that fan down we run a 4 inch 203cfm in our 2x4x6.5 and it was way to much air.
Just sayin.....

Thank you, I will definitely run the fan on the lowest setting. I initially was afraid that I didn't get a big enough inline/filter combo.

If thats not enough I heard that I could manipulate the ducting and add a 45-90 degree turn to the ducting to restrict air flow. Hopefully it does not come to that though.

With the two lights and the rest of your setup you'll do just fine. Don't stress too much you'll figure out any small issues that inevitably arise as they come.

You have about 5 sq ft of area you're trying to light. Top-tier diodes like those used in QB's need about 30w/sq ft to achieve sufficient light levels to flower. Old tech fixtures like your original; need about 50w/sq ft.
So, 150 watts minimum for good lights and 250 watts of old tech lights.

I've used it in the past and it's a good basic mix. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it's very hygroscopic and will turn to soup if it's not sealed in a dry container.
In a pinch, I have used MG tomato blend if nothing else was available. As long as it has all of the macro and micronutrients in the mix, it'll work.

Think about getting a tube heater or heating mat to warm the space both night and day.
